Hey, do you pay for their internet service, cover their costs if they do buy 'mechs, are you going to send all these pugs enough MC to cover what they could get by at least trying to engage in the event . . . etc. etc. If not, tough for you! Accept that it's just one of the special things about a mmo ftp game that everyone has to deal with.

This is another creditable attempt to revitalise FW by PGI and you come out with the usual attitude that drives new players away.

Add some friends, use LFG, join a group, enjoy. Nobody is forcing you to pug. I prefer playing with friends - it is much more enjoyable.

At least exclude Polar Highlands from the event. It is not even close to funny to play with hiding team vs several lrm-80/90 mechs with narcer support. PGI, you want people to just stop playing?

Geez... Sounds to me like PGI fell down on the coding job again. Make sure to Redeem your Pattern BEFORE you switch sides, and hope PGI fixes it for the rest of us!

Through experience, I can tell you that if you switch back, you get all your progress back.

I rather like my new Panther (PNT-9R), so I got the Kurita skin for it. What's up with the horned skeleton (right lower leg), the fish (right upper leg), and the waving Hello Kitty bear thing (left arm rear)?

The rest of it looks cool.

@Everyone --- Before I get to the quotes below, I should note that any Event Review & Rating that I've currently posted is beyond out-of-date. I'll get to a fresh one just as soon as I can, updated to reflect anything I've learned during this Event's progression. By the way, sorry to anyone who's thought them a bit salty, as well as overly 'out to burn someone'... Please keep in mind that I was going off what information I had at the time, and I tend to be quick to jump on things that look initially like awful mistakes.

If true, that's good to know. It does however leave the question of why PGI didn't code that to maintain display of the progress within that Faction without regard to a Faction Change?

I don't know about the first two items, but that last one... well... you should look at the "Lucky Cat" Standing Cockpit Item. It just so happens to have your answer of what that really is.

Skeleton is an Oni, Fish is a Koi, Hello Kitty is a Beckoning Cat all part of Japanese culture, which fits the Kurita theme.

After looking at a few of my mechs with just default patterns, I decided to get the pattern for the King Crab. Would've gotten more "use" out of it for the 3 Thanatos I have, but those are rotting in the garage anyway, and I didn't like the pattern on them.

With just an unskilled Nova-S to use, I won't switch factions to get a pattern for this or the Thor I got from one of the old supply crates.

As for the "free" mech later: Not sure what to get. Since I don't have some of the offered chassis, I'll probably get one of those: Cataphract, Thunderbolt, Grashopper or Jagermech. Any recommendations there?

Grasshopper is the best choice IMHO. It can brawl, it can fight from medium range or it can be a sniper plus it has jump jets.

Anyone else been having an issue with loot bags not being awarded despite getting the required match score? I've raised a ticket with support but have yet to hear back.

The only thing that I can immediately think of in that regard: you only get a 2nd loot bag per match 25x, so you'll have to do at least 50 games in total.

So I finished the Kurita and forgot to redeem the pattern, switched to SJ and lost my pattern. Now i'm on a 10 probationary matches, so i'll have to finish the 25 Kills before switching back to Kurita to get my pattern. Truly annoying.

How long do we have to redeem the pattern? Does it have to be during the event time limit? Does it carry over into the quick play time?
