I'm thinking everyone forgot that PGI alters everything to work their way.
For example MWO's "Command Console" vs TT CC: http://www.sarna.net...Command_Console

So logically PGI can easily add C3-Master Computer and basically works like CC to boost stats.
And add the C3-Slave but alone it gives much less of a bonus then C3 or CC.
However if any mech in the same lance/team with C3 Computer then it'd boost C3 Slave mechs to same buffs as C3.

Possibly each and every C3-Slave give an extra buff to C3 Master?
But what to do if there's more then one C3 or C3i, do they get and add same bonus buff like C3-Slave?
http://www.sarna.net...C3_Command_Unit
http://www.sarna.net...i/C3_Slave_Unit

PGI could add the C3i (Improved C3 Computer) because it was being produced in 3062
http://www.sarna.net...ved_C3_Computer

And might as well add the C3 network system for IS mech to compete against Clan Targeting Computers.
Although (imo) IS is at a big disadvantage of in terms of using C3 because of weight and slots.

I have drunk many beers between the time that I last played TT and today, so yes, I may not remember clearly.

Same here been a long long time.
And that's partially why the old books got flipped through...
then figured may as well post it and save someone else from looking it up.

Hatomoto-chi torso fail.

How come? I know they took liberties but they basically made a giant skull /Japanese demon face (with a skull nose) out of the torso as opposed to the generic 6 pack launcher patches of the original.

The Hatamoto-Chi looks really nice. I got tempted by the 5% cockpit items, and the price seems ok, but then I realised I rather spend money on MC to buy single (special chassis) mechs than on multi-variant mech packs.

Though I also like hte Thug, it will likely suffer from the Archer syndrome, cockpit almost in the middle of the chest as well as the primary weapon being the in the arms that can not be elevated.

These are both Inner Sphere.

In general, if you're not connected with the lore you can always type it up into Sarna.net to find out. This said: The Clan mechs will have "C-" for the weapons. "C-Ultraautocannon/5" for example. "C-Large Pulse Laser."

Think Cataphract.

Archer's head is barely above the pelvis. (Legal reasons, having it up high is too similar to another design).

Thug's head is about where it is on a Cataphract or Awesome. Low slung arms are a bit of an issue, but really its the same with the Timber Wolf and nobody fussed there.

In fairness for the weapon systems at the time it was a great mech - I adored mine as it carried a great weapon load, had jump jets and good agility.

Consider the weapons system, and for FP GR + ERML were a favorite.. ohh, do not forget that the cXL did not have ANY penalties for the loss of one side torso for several months after it was released then when PGI got around to it, they only have it a 20% heat dissipation penalty from engine HS. The 20% MOVEMENT penalty did not come about for ANOTHER year, or approx 1.5 years after Clans were released. Then 2.5 years after release of the Clans the heat dissipation penalty was increased from 20% to 40%. But the really big hurt came from the engine desync...

Comments/rants:

1. Charger head design is bad. Please rework it.
2. Charger torsos and designs are arguably "highlander-ish". Why?
3. Sarna's article on Charger is far from glowing. It's really down to PGI to make Charger appeal more (quirk, mobility, hitbox, etc), otherwise why should we buy an admittedly defective mech?
4. How difficult is it to add GXP bonus into the early adapter rewards? Grinding skill points are (really) painful.

If you knock out the GXP event challenge currently running you'll have 75 GXP Skill Points saved for down the road. Posted Image

While I don't agree with his points 1-3, he definitely has a point on 4 as it would make them far more attractive by reducing the grind. Doesn't need to be a huge amount just say 10 for each mech in the preorder so 30-70. It would also have the side effect of encouraging those of us that buy the basic packs regularly almost as a sub to get higher levels rather than waiting to see the in game performance.

PS: The GXP from a one off event isn't really much of a comparison. ;)

Just noticed the "dekels" that are shipping with the new charger.
Having a battery charge icon? COME ON!
Yes you read the Definitions

charg·er1

ˈCHärjər/

noun
noun: charger; plural noun: chargers

  • a horse trained for battle; a cavalry horse.

  • a device for charging a battery or battery-powered equipment.
BUT DOLLARS TO DONUTS! ITS A HORSE TRAINED FOR BATTLE! NOT BATTERY CHARGERS! COME ON!

Yes, Mechs have Fusion engines, so electrical power is not something that they are ever lacking.

Honestly, I am happy the Hatamoto is here, mostly because I favor mechs that are IS Nationals and Clan Totems. They are basically personifications of their factions. Like the Fafnir and Zeus representing House Steiner love of Assaults, the Kodiak for Clan Ghost Bear, or the Sha Yu and Lao Hu representing House Liao's Chinese roots.
