Why take an ACH when the Incubus doesnt have fixed equipment? It's clearly an ACH 2.0, which makes it a tryhard wet dream at the very least and a better investment in the end run.

Cheeto still gets to spam more MGs than Inky, but then again that's what the Piranha is for.

Incubus is the fastest clan light possible as of now. So there's it's niche. That and its variability.

The 2 got one less mg than the typical 2-3 laser + 6 mg cheeto not much of a huge difference tbh.

Not gonna say Hitbox DOA......but I'll be damned it looks like it's got some seriously weird looking geometry despite the very sleek humanoid look of the concept art.

Hitbox DOA balancing strikes again.

Haha I kinda see that coming but still, I can only think of three other 80 ton clan mechs with good high mounts.

Being the Warhammer, Phoenix Hawk IIC, and Bruin.

Being a battlemech makes all the difference. I am personally looking forward to the Warhammer-IIC. Piloted it a lot in MW2.

Is it just me or does that chest look distinctly easy to hit? Was hoping for a slimmer profile.

I love the look of the Incubus.

I do think it is secretly a LAM due to it's design language. I am waiting for it to transform into a jet and take off :D

Sadly I doubt we'll ever see that. ;)

So 4 extra tons on a 30 tonner with 6 high-mounted torso energies isnt at all appealing? o.O

I think you can still spread damage on this thing quite fine, plus it have a opening gap between the chest and arms so you could theoretically roll some of the damage to the gap making the other guy miss his shot.

This was the first preorder in a while I was tempted to get. Especially due to the camo and colors. But, I then remembered the 33% nerf to CSPL, and the mobility nerf they did to almost all lights. So waiting to see the the full specs.

Who wants to take bets that it will have better baseline mobility than the ACH? Considering that the ACH had a minor mobility buff in PTS 2.1 that for some reason will not make it into the September patch.

From the picture its hit boxes look horrible (*). Someone mentioned Javelin before, that's a great example of the difference between a good light mech such as ACH with great hit-boxes and the poor Javelin, usually squarish mechs are crap in the live environment.

(*) Obviously we will have to see how it behaves in the real world.

In order to run an LB20 on an Incubus, which is 13 tons minimum (12 for the gun, 1 for ammo), 1.5 tons for endo steel structure, that leaves you only 15.5 leftover for armor, engine, and additional ammo. Since you need 10 heatsinks, the most practical engine is a 200XL at 7.5 tons, with 2 additional external sinks for 9.5 total. This leaves you 6 tons left for armor and ammo, and the mech comes stock with 5 1/2 tons of FF armor. So now you have a more fragile and slower incubus to have a 20 damage gun.

built with the 200 XL you can fit the LB20X with 3 tons ammo if you strip the arms and head completely of armor.

I do find it strange that none of the variants offer JJs/ECM/MASC. Poor Adder level mech... and I love the Adder.

Nonsense. The Adder has a locked in engine which makes it the bad mech it is.
The Incubus is a Battlemech and did you check what the engine cap on it is?
You dont need MASC with a 270+ engine size on a 30t mech.
