Ash I'm guessing was streaming, so we could probably already see where things went wrong. In any case, I don't care how Shifty McSwift plays, it's just YOLO queue after all, and if most of the time I'm not playing serious, I can't expect others to be playing serious either.

Ah! But we get to see an inkling of who is a liar.

Probably not. There was mention of ASH streaming, so he might have a video of it.
Either way I don't care, and I suspect most of the community at large doesn't care either.

Too bad the skill pool is shrinking, I miss having skilled people to play with/against to learn from and get better.

I hope vimeo is not too obscure for some Posted Image

Video was right on the weekly free upload limit, so it cuts out the text drams to focus on the fight in question, i'll upload the full vid to that bitchute account if anyone wants to see it in full, its nothing really, but I wouldn't want to seem like I am hiding anything... Or just outright lying about other people on the forum.

And no I am not a streamer and don't intend to be, the first video I uploaded was inspired by a specific person calling me crap based on my stats, so I uploaded the video to just have some footage of my generic kind of solo QP games and how I tend to play, as I find it to be a vastly more accurate display of a persons skill and style (or lack thereof, I don't claim to be fantastic either) then stats are.

this link doesn't work, but going by your other gameplay video i'd have to agree with ash's assessment; you're frequently out of position and isolated from the rest of your team. you also tend to pick bad engagements, you expose your back unnecessarily, and you rarely target enemy mechs. any amount of success you're having mostly comes down to a combination of luck, ineptitude on your opponents' part, and the fact that your build can potentially take out an enemy or two through sheer brute force.

i will say though that your aim at least seems to be pretty solid. you landed a few nice shots on some lights and generally did a good job of leading your targets.

Hmm. You play better than most puggles. Looked like you stayed with your team. Kinda overtwisted at times, and overcomitted at the end when you died, but could have been a hell of a lot worse. Not knowing your Jarl's list ranking, i'd guess 80% or higher.

awww, that's a lot less....juicy than I expected, so disappointed. I'd unlock arms for torso twisting but otherwise pretty decent gameplay

Right? Based on how ash was talking, I was expecting gameplay on the level of some other players with similar names I've seen in Faction Play...

You might note at that moment I realise 3 of ours have broken for basement, leaving the 3 that stayed in that melee to die. At that stage I was coming open at the seams and hadn't turned far left enough to grind the basement rail, walking right into those two and yeah, pretty much giving up as my front and back were opened and there were several mechs I wasn't outrunning right on me.

that was definitely your biggest mistake. if you had dropped down to the left instead of continuing to charge towards the quickdraw and hunchback you would have been back with your teammates with all of your SRMs still intact. you had a decent chance of turning that match around, but like you said, you kinda just gave up at the end. aside from that i'd say you played it pretty well.

I keep trying to find a good binding for the hold down unlock (as I just despise how the cursor shifts about with arms unlocked), but in the heat of combat it mostly slips my mind, occasionally I do but yes I do need to remind myself to do it more often. Same with hitting r, but I probably do that more than arm twisting... Like I said not claiming greatness here just trying to prove I am not a lying baddie as has been described earlier.

Back with my teammates who went for cover yes, but I was technically with the teammates still fighting, and died with them.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Agreed though, dropping down would have given the best result.

Change the arm unlock keymap to Toggle arm lock button so you only have to hit the button once to turn off then again on, a much saner approach.. :)

I don't see anything egregious in that gameplay video. There is room for improvement, especially to carry against a 99%-level group, but as far as pug-drops go it is better than most.

That said, I don't really know what it proves, other than that Ash was exaggerating greatly (also probably super drunk either during the match or during the post, not that that excuses blowing things out of proportion). Taking your gameplay (granted, sample size of one), and then applying it to groups, you should be good enough to have a reasonable win/loss ratio if playing in a group with other people around your level.

So what's the big deal about needing to nerf big groups? Heck, the conversation in this thread seems to have already passively agreed that big groups are not an issue, and we're all really arguing back and forth about small groups of good players.
