Lol did anybody buy this mech? Or the Vulcan?
I bought Collector Pack for both. I don't know how I'll feel about the Champion but I don't regret buying the Vulcan. For the Vulcan I was humming and hawing about buying it and on May 31st (last day of the early adopter bonuses) I bought the standard pack only because it's a medium mech and I'm most comfortable in medium mechs.
I didn't have high expectations of it but when it was released I played it and it felt really good. It's agile while being light enough to be quick and has just enough weight and hardpoints for a decently powerful loadout. It's also surprisingly durable for a 40 ton mech. I ended up upgrading to the Collector's Pack a week after it was released. It doesn't 'change the meta' or anything, but it's a surprisingly good mech.
For the Champion it has a quirky look to it just like the Vulcan, but I ordered it because doing some theory-crafting I found that many of my Marauder builds can fit in it with little alterations so long as I strip the armour off the arms and use the extra tonnage for weaponry. On the CHP-1N(S) can go with 2xLB10X with 4xML, or Heavy Gauss with 4 ML, or AC20 with 2xSNPPCs (though the last build will be hot so it might be better to go with a more standard AC20+4 MLs). And that's completely ignoring the two missile hardpoints in the left torso.
I upgraded to the Collector's Pack after the Charger/Hatamoto Chi was announced mainly because I felt the CHP-1N was a worthy S variant and it qualified me for the 'Top Tier' Warhammer.
