Hls Quirk

I really appreciate this addition.
How many other mechs are going to get these quirks, or is it just for select mechs?
I noticed the AWS-8r didn't get a +2 lrm 15 hls quirk.
PGI seems to be inching along with all of these changes but I get the feeling its just driving players to safer meta/psuedo meta builds and mechs. I havent seen an incubus for a while now, and only a few hellfires.

There's a good reason for that. I still run the INC now and again but it's very feast or famine, super easy kill. Why go 160 when it doesn't feel like it and you still lose to a PIR or any other light 1v1. Was really thinking it would be more than what it is.
The hellfire is even bigger disappoint, it can carry marginally more firepower than a Mad-dog on paper, but that doesn't really translate in game because it's made of glass, it's convergence is pretty bad, and the MASC doesn't really synergize very well with how sluggish it responds. The hero is just sad.

Fire power is pretty decent actually. But yeah, theres a lot of technical disadvantages that seem unnecessary. It does better than the maddog cause its a battlemech tho.

The AWS-9M gets the quirk for only ERPPC, which again is pretty useless... IS ERPPC are too hot to use effectively, and it's still only 30 PPFLD.

Probably true, at least for the awesome. This specific quirk isn't going to out-shine the more normal double HPPC builds out there.
Still, it's cool that they're trying something unique here. I'm liking the path, of adding it to those few mechs out there that combine "Iconic loadout" with "BadmechTM."
I'm actually interested in that UAC20 Hunchback build, and I haven't been interested in twin UAC20's in almost forever. The ERPPC+Gauss limit for the Nightstar is also intriguing, if not particularly amazing. (With the removal of the Armor quirks from the HGR-Mechs, this makes the Nightstar even more intriguing as well.)
Moving forward though, I kind of doubt you'll find it creeping into actual "Average to Good" mechs anytime soon. (Like the king crab, which may well be the only IS dakka assault with sizeable armor quirks now)

I do wish it had that quirk for the ER-PPC too tho but I can understand that they'd want the 9M to have that role (and it's quirks are already worse anyway).

The rate of fire is going to be way lower on the Awesome than any HGR mech, since you need to wait to cool off. Still though, if this isn't a bug, and it's intentional you can use 3 HPPC, then I can actually see myself trying to use the Awesome because that sounds pretty good.

All PPC's on the 8Q can be fired in groups of 3 without ghost heat now (for the moment anyway). I have tried both Heavy and ER variants and I'm having lots of fun with both of them. The changes to heat dissipation really buffed the 8Q as well.

The RoF will be about the same. they both have 5 seconds cool down and HGR got the charge up on top of that. Ofc in an outright battle of sustained damage the HGR will win since it doesn't have to worry about heat and deal 5 damage more, but they're also heavier with worse range.
Edit: and PGI, please please pleeaaaasseee don't "fix" that quirk! The AWS finally truly lives up to it's name as a formidable PPC boat.

I like the addition personally. The Hunchback IIC though - that is a little frightening.
