Armoured warfare had this, played quite a bit myself, could only manage an hour at a time though-got very boring very fast. Pve always does. Unless the AI is exceptional and can mimic another player well.
Leading Dev Paul innoye say clear no real AI in MWO and nothing plans for came in MWO in Future
and Infantry or elementals (Hitreg ...collisonssystem and IK a big problem for PGI)and all works to MW5 ...

You do not have to do any repairs, or lose a mech for a time period while it is being repaired.
The game is basically an arcade shooter, insert coin and start again. Add a repair function either in time or cbills and you will start to see a totally different set of mechs on the field and a radically different game play style.

Repairs were taken out of the game for a reason. It works well in a PvE setting, but in PvP it encourages hiding. So unless you want to play find-the-shutdown-mechs for the last 10 minutes of every win, keep repairs out of the game.
Also, if ammo had a c-bill cost, you'd best be prepared to see endless laser boats.

the issue is who's just gonna sit inside a base and wait.. unless of course you maybe give the attacking team a numerical advantage while while giving the base enough study defenses to encourage defenders to stay close to home where theres support..
otherwise its the same old sally forth and skirmish.. another idea on this kind of mode would be to give the attackers a slight movement time advantage simulating a "surprise attack" scenario leaving the defenders to "Scramble Thier MECH's" and man the defense in a hurry.

The AI in WOWS is quite exceptional. Also in these coop battles, which need to be filled within 30 seconds, AI bots would also fill your team.
In coop though, you will still likely win over 90% of your battles, with the percentage going lower as the tier goes up.
WoWs Operations mode, however, is another matter. Its much more complex, the situation is dead set against you, it requires precise teamwork, game experience, and luck. The win rate for these missions are much lower. These are probably the best coop game mode I have seen with a vehicular PvP game with the exception of those in Fractured Space.

I have given up hope on this once Paul said they can't add any new systems. Looks to me they have no programmers working on mwo until mw5 is done.

You literally drop next to a bad guy. You'd have rally points for extra points and the missions would be the same.....

No thanks ..a further Arena random Modus ...far away from the Tactical WAR Shooter to a Random Brawl Fastshooter ...in...fast fight and out ...hate this Arena Sh*t in mW4 and will never seeit here ,.Thats perfect for CoD or Unreal Tournment ...the most BT fans wills a Tactical WAR SIMULATION with tactical Awarness not stupid brainless run and fight.
Sad enough thats the Objectives have no sense in the Gameplay by only 15 Minutes Playtimes and most small Maps.

If you want tactical war simulation, go play War Thunder. A Robot game will not win a Tank shooter over in this role, simply because to simulate you need reality and mechs are not real --- tanks are. Tanks and their Wars like World War 2 are real, and not science fiction books.
I also feel that there is a pre-existing public perception that when you have war plus mechs and robots, they expect a brawl.

I usually agree with you. MWO isn't even close to a SIM.... I spent over ten years playing actual military SIMs and to be honest, they were a lot of fun.......but, the average MWO pilot would NOT last 10 minutes and would die.... Reality and MWO are not even close. If MWO re-vamped itself and returned the weapons to their full-effectiveness and were un-nerf'd, most pilots would quit.... This is an arcade FPS......imagine LRMs/ATMs (guided missiles that home center-of-mass) now greater more deadly. Gauss rifles that "significantly" damage mechs and blow out mech electrical systems for a few seconds till the on-board computers re-boot (because of the EMP).... Long range accuracy returns and up-close weapons become far more effective damaging components.... Oh yeah, there would be a whole lot of alligator tears.....
The military sims made you actually sweat and left you emotionally drained.... Getting your crew killed wasn't an approved solution because their confidence in you was on the line each and every match........ Oh yes, MWO could not support a real SIM designed mode..... Heck, all you see is whining with degraded weapons now........imagine of PGI took off the limiters.

Incursion
Oh wait...
Of all the things PGI can spend resources on...new game modes? How about balance, immersion, faction play, a way to bring back old maps, hitboxes, etc.
We really do not need another thing for people not to vote on. Given PGI has not shown a core competency in developing game modes how about we ask them to do things they can do? Like variants of existing game modes. For instance 8 v 8 skirmish. Or maybe all light queue conquest.
Just saying.

Yeah, if its a tactical military sim, you can be dying in one shot by a shell or a missile even at long ranges. People here in the forums are already complaining for far less. Tanks are constantly hiding, peeking out their guns for sniper shots, or sneaking up behind rocks, trees and buildings. The only place it gets to be a brawl would be inside a city or a town. Lets not forget to mention the player flown aerial attacks, and artillery strikes.
There is a kind of person that are actually entertained like this, but its not going to your mech player.

SF is only a Setting and tactical shooter is not binding on real Settings, thats you can make a good simple tactical FPS shoooter you can seeing by BF 2142 ...yes is has mechs and VTOLs ,Titan Skyships and many tactical Aspects, or the Old Heavy Gear Games (sadly thats Mektek make a Arena shooter with this great Fanchise) and BT is from the Ground a tactical Game and yes ist very difficult for balance, bring usercontroled tanks in it or VTOLs or aerospacefighters , so the MWO mechs have massive Problems while not have the free vertical Arm Movement like MWLL..and Mechs only walking tanks thats hold out more hits ,like the supertanks and Titans in WH40k
