The Next I.s Light Should Be The Nexus And It Should Get 4 Ams.

ECM
Jumpjets
Possible 4 AMS variant
With LRMs being dominant and a 25 tonner with ecm and jumpjets makes for a perfect candidate as a new light.
Give it 4 AMS because I.S needs a 4 AMS mech to help with Quad ALRM20 NooberNovas.
Or just give us the Hermes or Koto and give clan the Dasher by flipping the lynx arms above it and giving it mobility quirks to make it have faster torso twist than a locust and give it a 174 kph speed cap (commando used to have 174 kph)

But the Nexus itself is good enough to bring in the game while being a viable pick.

The Piranha A can only get away with quad AMS because it can leverage Clantech to make up for all the tonnage and slots the AMS eats up, and can save even more by taking one or more LAMS (since they're 1t/1s instead of 1.5t/2s for the IS version). An AMS boat PIR can still pack a 20+ point alpha into the ~2t it has left over; an IS light 'Mech simply can't do that. It's still pretty weak compared to the AMS Kitfox or Nova, because both of those can still carry a respectable weapon load on top of the defensive hardware.
If PGI gives anything IS the ability to mount 3 or 4 AMS, it needs to be at least a medium.

It comes with a 170 stock instead of the 150 the Commando has stock so it's be faster unless PGI reduced the regular engine formula. It'd basically be a better Death's Knell but for cbills.

I think you're exaggerating a bit - you can run 4AMS with 3 tons (EDIT: of ammo - see build), and dubs aren't really necessary if you're only bringing 4ERSL anyway.
(BAP simulates an ECM)
XL225 (SHS, ECM, 3AMS, 4ERSL) https://mwo.smurfy-n...bee8616e4ab90aa
XL200 (DHS, ECM, 4AMS,4ERSL) https://mwo.smurfy-n...9dc1a024369b21a
I don't use all the HPs on the XL225, but then you don't need to use all the HPs on any mech.
IS doesn't have a pure-support light like the Kitfox. While the Nexus has less tonnage and therefore can bring less armament, the support Kitfox doesn't post huge damage numbers either.

i'd pay for the stinger/wasp lams. others want a raptor or other light. How about instead of a new light mech pgi spend a month making all those 35 ton mech queens viable again? Shink them back to their original size and rescale be damed back to hell. that instantly makes 10-15 light mech variants viable for use.

Nexus would be a great laser boat 25 tonner. Just look at it's hps. It's one of the most powerful IS 25 tonners we could get.

Your OP focuses too much on the gimmick of having 4 ams. It'd be better to talk about it's actual fighting prowess.

If you want an AMS mech based in canon perhaps petition for the 45 ton Komodo and add an additional AMS hardpoint. The problem with the Komodo is the invalid variants but I suppose you could replace the C3 master or slave with a TC1 and TC5 to make them legal.

I actually think the most interesting aspect is that it can be paired with the Jackrabbit. Not that the Jackrabbit is particularly strong but it is still a nice option for the reinforcements or a hero. And I like the looks:

What it really brings is an IS 25 tonner with jj, plenty of energy hps, ecm variant, etc for cbills. Plus the fish is clan so this is an IS option.

Wasnt the Osiris supposed to be the IS side's Hail Mary anyway?

What I'm saying is, IS people should be asking for medium mechs that boat machine guns and AMS, not lights. That's the only way you will boat those things while not also being trash.

The Osiris was wanted by the same people who wanted Thanatos, Uziel, Hellspawn... you get the idea. It was never going to be more than an average Mech, and it became redundant the day it was released.
Being a jump capable 25t energy boat the Nexus fills a niche and could be nice, though I prefer the Brigand for that role.
