And I agree that the 1070 would probably hit a sweet spot for thr low side of high tier....if the prices hadnt start to climb up again.

FFS though, build your pc for some other game instead. I would give MWO until late 2019 or early 2020.
Totally agree, just for MWO it's a bit of a waste. Given that a nice little gaming PC for 600$ will handle current games with more then decent performance and visuals.
It's just that you don't ever want a monitor with higher hz then your system can provide fps.
General rule of thump: fps higher then hz. Otherwise wasted performance on the monitor and it also looks weird on the monitor.

The OP said his budget is unlimited. That said I didn't suggest an Intel 9900K either so cool your jets.
Also you have a bunch of misleading or outright incorrect info in your post.
1st off misleading. A smaller CPU, say a 2600 or 2600x will cost the same as a 2700X if you buy a separate high end cooler for them. I suggested specifically the 2700x because the cooler that comes with it is probably worth a decent $50 cooler.
That said a 2600x is also a great purchase and if budget was a concern that or the 2600 would be the one I would suggest as those are the current best value per $ CPUs on the market.
False information: Both the X and non-X versions of the CPUs are overclockable. The X versions just have higher base and boost clocks and might be slightly higher quality silicone but that only equates to at most 100 or so extra GHZ if you manually overclock it with a high end AIO. The advantage of the X version is 1) better stock cooler and 2) less reason to overclock it as it already has higher base and boost clocks. Reading the thread the OP has never really overclocked, so that would be ideal, especially considering the margins for overclocking isn't really there with 2nd gen Zen. I mean you can, but the gains isn't great.
Misleading: You mention that you buy the wraith prism cooler (I think you misspoke but to clarify), it comes with the 2700X free and is a very good cooler, the OP can look at reviews of it. It'll handle the 2700X at it's stock and boost speeds without thermal throttling. That said the stock 2600X cooler should do the same. With the 2nd gen Ryzens they slightly downgraded the non X CPUs coolers so if he is going to pick up a 2700 or 2600 non X then a $50 air cooler (again no need for a $100 AIO) is more than enough even with overclocking.
Misleading: The RAM speed makes a difference, a big enough one to warrant getting at least 3200 speed RAM. That's just how Ryzen 1st and 2nd gen works and the price difference is not that big, especially with DRAM prices coming down currently.
Misleading: Overlcoking is not the only reason to buy a B/X Motherboard. There are additional features to do with the Boost 2.0 tech and other stuff that came with the 2nd gen Ryzen CPUs and MBs that make it worth picking up a decent B or cheaper X motherboard.
Again, I specifically listed what I did, instead of the rig I am currently running (R5 1600, 3200 RAM (REQUIRED), cheap B350 MB) because the op originally stated no budget so I don't really care about the objections regarding pricing. The components are all still close to best value for money. You get what you pay for. I even included the RX590 that's current going for $280 and includes 3 free AAA tritles. Reviews show it to be between the 1060/RX580 and 1070 in performance.
I know how MWO handles on the hardware I have and I can't guarantee 60fpd at all max settings at all times. It's usually 60fps+ but if I want to 60+ fps I had to turn down one or two settings. The build I suggested is in the right ballpark for what the OP wanted guaranteed 60fps at max settings and based on the no budget note without going stupid overboard.
I'm not incorrect and you have a different oppinion then me, i'll leave it at that.
Just some key notes.
- with decent ryzen i meant 1500/1600x not top liner. A 1600x is more then enough to handle stuff like MWO on max settings @ 1080p. It fits the budget bill and there is enough $ to buy a fairly decent AIO cooler while saving some money compared to the 2700x (with loud stock cooler).
- 3200mhz kit with good timings is actually twice as expensive as a good 3000mhz with even better timings. Check the market. For 1st gen ryzen, from 3000mhz upwards it's a dimishing return in performance. They benefit more from better timings then higher clock rate. I can personally tell you that a 3000mhz @ CL14 kit outperforms a 3200 mhz @ CL16.
- Stock wraith prizm is loud, overclocked is loud all the time. it's 45 db, that's louuuuud.
- implying a 50 air cooler when i mentioned a decent 240mm radiator AIO system for 60$ (which is 1,5 times quiter then the stock 2700x cooler). OP asked for a liquid cooler system.
Again, i can agree that the components you mentioned are flat out better then the budget components i mentioned.
The stuff i suggested can handle most modern games at max settings with 60+ fps.
Idk why you recommend top line products like 200-250 $ ram kits and top of the line CPUs like the 2700x.
Idk why you recommend a 400$ graphic card over a 200$ card, while the 200$ is already capable of delivering what OP wants.
You should really take a look at OP's post and what he wants.
- MWO at max settings
- AIO
- Budget (look up what budget means)
Also, i welcome any discussion just don't turn it into a debate. I have not personally attacked you or your opinion.
Sorry if the *money.gif* rubbed you the wrong way. I've put it up for a reasons tho.

This are the parts you mentioned. Mind you, i went with the absolute cheapest manufactuer and i am already scratching at 1000$ (without the AIO Liquid cooling OP wished to have).
Also, no hard disks, no PSU and no case.
I've already put together a budget system for about 600$ (a full system! with AIO).

It's obviously not as good as the parts you mentioned but it will do what OP wants just as well while not bombing his bank account.

Yep, 3gb 1060 are not worth their money. Same goes for 4GB 580.
I'd actually say the 580 8GB is the current sweet spot just because the 1070 isn't that much better but doubles the price.

And if the guy who nekroed it is having issues running the game on a 12th gen intel cpu then there are other factors at work becuase it runs a steady locked 60 fps with max settings on my old gaming pc with a 4th gen i5 and gtx 970. My 10th gen i5 and 1080ti make short work of it and barely causes the fans to spin.

the only thing is that 32 bit computing had going for it is that it had been refined to a point where it just worked. 64 bit had some serious growing pains. i think ive built 8 or 9 rigs since the athalon 64 days. so its nice to see 32 bit machines relegated to single board computers and microcontrollers where they belong.

Ye I get severe drops in big team fights, usually over 100 FPS when not doing anything but when teh bullets start flying i get like 25 or lower sometimes.

Logical Increments is hands down the best place to start when looking to build a new PC
They even have game specific builds listed, here's the one for Crysis which IIRC uses the same engine as MWO: https://www.logicali...om/games/crysis
In short you're looking at a $2500+ box for best performance at 4k

What gpu? If you are using the dx11 client try the dx9 as it has better performance but somewhat worse visuals but nothing major.
You can also try MrVaads mwo tweaker to reduce the quality of certain fps eating effects like projectile explosion spam and other particle effects.
