I bought the standard pack after reading the tweet and falling for the bait. So I've been tricked? Since a free hero mech has got nothing to do with buying a mech pack.

I’m in the same boat, I wouldn’t have bought the pack outside of that tweet, I had considered getting the mech before but was on the fence. The tweet made me reconsider to buying the mech in hopes that I would receive something outside the pre order bonuses, whether that be content, another mech, or restricted early access.

Sounds like it. Maybe he was confused that the “rule of three” still applied to leveling a mech, so you needed other ones to level it.

It is the only thing I can think of for wording it that way, besides a downright ploy to sell packs.

The rule of three doesn't even apply here because buying a basic pack would already give you all three that you need.

That tweet was supremely stupid, to end up being nothing but woof tickets.

Just contact support and request a refund if you bought in to see what the surprise was going to be. They will give you your $20 with no resistance.

from Matt. Wait until PGI gives said proper response before canceling the preorders, since they have a pretty good record of compensating players for their mistakes. Just because they didn't plan on it doesn't mean they won't follow through.

Now, if they don't, do whatever you want. Just don't be hasty and cancel before hearing a proper response from Matt.

I have no history of such a record.

Expecting compensation beyond a simple refund is a set up for disappointment.

That, or he had a brain fart and thought the Warhammer IIC was an omnimech and you could mix the free hero mech pods with the mech pack pods.

True, but what I meant was that you would need at least 2 more to level the free one you will get under the old “rule of three”. You would need to at least buy the basic pack, or wait for CBill/MC release.
