They're all in-game right now. Just look at the trial mechs.

A generous gift, was really bummed when I logged in first thing on the morning of the 27th only to find that the event didn't start until 11am local time! Given I was leaving that morning and have just now been able to get back to proper 'net access that was my one chance at qualifying - but it was denied due to PGI lacking an understanding of international time zones

Would have been really nice if it actually started in the morning of the 27th instead of almost midday (for those of us located in Aus/NZ/SEA).

Well, I'm sorry you didn't make it, for sure. But to be honest, they gave very precise information on when the event would start. Not being able to translate UTC into your local time, that's on you, sadly. Nobody else.

Yep, was dumb of me to even attempt to logon - no argument on that. Terrible to think that something that's advertised as being on the 27th and lasting 36hrs wouldn't even start at the beginning of the 27th for everyone. Had this vague hope that the event start time might have been updated at the last moment.

Nice. Let's try this. I'm a doctor, work in an ICU, but still enjoy playing this game. One of the things I really like. Got the email while at work (24 hour shift, remember?). No access to a computer, let alone a gaming PC. Even if I had, wouldn't want to be forking around in my job, while some poor fellow requiring inmediate medical assistant in an emergency has to wait till I'm finish with the quick match... sometimes you don't have those 15 minutes of free time you think you're entitled too. You'd know that if you weren't still living in your parents basement. If I had known prior to the date, like those million emails PGI sends me trying to get me to buy their mech packs, I could have made arrangements to have the game already patched by the time I got home, and play within the timeframe.
Nobody died here, this is not a world defining moment, nothing of importance is going to derive from this happening, but it is a sucky thing nonetheless.

No. This game is nobody's life, but the devs or a professional gaming team. Is something you do to play and relax, and enjoy free time. Having to check a website constantly to not miss out, that's work, not playtime. Not everybody has Facebook or Twitter, not everybody is obliged to. But if you're gonna send an email, do it prior to the event, not during. It's not that hard. Or don't do it at all. If I had received no notification and found out later of the event, I wouldn't have cared. Just the way it happened what pisses me off.

Some people need to log into MWO at least once a month to get info and give a show of support MWO by playing a match or two hint...

Your internet going out and it's the ISP's fault is an actual good excuse.

All of this stuff about I didn't know about the event because I don't follow the game well enough, or I forgot, or I had other things to do, is the player's problem, not PGI's.

I agree if you can show you use Century Link as ISP forward those details to PGI support and cordially ask if they will get you the rewards somehow for the Dec 27th event.

Just a friendly clarification, event ran for 2 days = 48 hours (DEC 26th 4:00 PM PST - 28th 4:00 AM PST)
However - logging in to check, imo absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.
And the UTC stuff gives a lot of people problems. Honestly, I live in EST and those times PGI doesn't list PST I'm screwed because its only 3 hours difference between the PST and EST, and I don't give a hoot about UTC.

You might want to double-check your mathematics. That small 36-Hour Period is NOT a 2-Day TimeFrame, but only a 1.5-Day TimeFrame. That's the only interjection I have regarding your arguing with each other, and only because the bad math made me really angry. I'm not sticking my nose in further.

I took my mother to hospital once . This was a money hospital not a free clinic . I literally waited 12 hours before a "doctor" came to see her . Then he argued his was not his speciality he was a so and so Doctor this was not his area . Then he spent 10 minutes arguing with another doctor over whose problem my mother was . He finally decided it was his problem and spent the next month charging me 30 bucks for every 5 minute daily check up .

The UTC thing didn't give me any issues (trained pilot and ex-military), I just really hoped that PGI would realise that UTC/GMT-0 is not the beginning of the day for a chunk of their player base - it's half way through the day.

Looks like I was wrong on QP only or they changed things as I got my rewards for that day. Thank you PGI for that. This is the kind of event that gets people playing especially when the rewards are as generous. Almost done with 250 FP.

I'm looking forward to getting my Warhammer IIC and I just figured out that the two heroes from this event are NOT the Maul and Ravager. They're special holiday editions, I guess?
