If I sort the players list by last online, I get kind of mixed results, like offline, then those online, then some that were online time ago and THEN AGAIN PEOPLE THAT ARE ONLINE... WTF.. How do I sort it now to get ONE BIG CLUSTER OF THOSE ONLINE?
PS: Yes I tried refresh ...

About 30 Minutes Later... And I've found MORE Bugs without even getting into a Match...
  • Friendslist is jumping all over the place when not sorted by Pilot Name
  • Severe Scrolling is needed to find who's Online on the Friendslist
  • Mech Arm Swing is now acting heavily constrained on the Testing Grounds
  • Stealth Armor Cooldown Nodes do NOT appear to be applying on the Testing Grounds
...and I'm sure there's more that I'm about to hit upon. I suspect it will also affect In-Match Operations too. Damnit... This time, the Monthly Update seems more like a Major Downgrade! Posted Image

thankyou PGI staff for trying!

that said, you've failed, but thanks anyway.
maybe just make new maps or something?

#boycottpgi they can't code and TEST stuff before putting it online. Which tells you everything about that company.

If the energy hardpoints are a bug, it'd be awful decent of them if they'd just leave it as is.

LRM's now fire direct on line of sight and volly out of sight. No mention of this. How do you change the way a weapon works without even testing it ???

Dumb change that will encourage people to stay out of line of sight of their targets. Great job promoting that 900m assault lrm boat lobbing away.

Friendlist sorting works fine for me. To set a player as favourite, click their name, then click favourite in the context menu.

What sorcery is this !?

Friends list is broken beyond broken, I thought the new update will get it working but hell now all my online peeps are spread throughout my list. Can you guys at least test it before you put it out? It is even worse than the PREVIOUS friends list. This is a blatant display of lack of pride in one's work.

Ty PGI for starting to change things.

I just want to say its hard to tag/invite people when the list jumps about, is there a fix coming for this?

Also could we not see those not online, as in i dont want to see the ppl in grey, that would help alot
just imo

ty

ya. Thats simply stupid that we have to scroll around to see who´s online .. but typical pgi, didnt expect anything else then Nonlogical, unecesesary complicated and simply not useful. Its bout time that they start to play their own game that they see on their own what is useful and what not.. hope they fix that. or pre patch tester could also help

I agree that they shouldn't be playing cheeky buggers and slipping in such significant changes without telling us, but I see this removing one of the excuses for lurm boats to be sat back so far.

It actually makes it more beneficial to sit in the back.. if you dont see your target lrms work the way they always did. If you see your target they now go flat and hit everything in the way on the way to the target.

Technically you don't get any benefit from sitting in the back since you can still fire indirectly from the front line, you just need to put some cover between you and the enemy to break LOS which is quite easy on most maps.
And when played correctly (= close to the front) a flat LOS trajectory should be helpful more often than not. So for me it looks like this change will benefit those who do not sit back at 800m+ while not hurting this potato way of lurming making the potato way of lurming a bit harder because even at 800m+ you can still get a LOS occasionally. Posted Image

For me it's like the best of both worlds: I get the low trajectory (=faster arrival, useable in tunnels) of ATMs when there is no high cover to clear while still being able to lob missiles to enemies behind cover. But i guess i need to play them today to see if LOS detection is accurate and quick enough. Would be bad if i think i lost LOS but my missiles still fly low because the server thinks otherwise... Posted Image

In the end i think nothing will change much. Smart players will be even more encouraged to stay within the pack while potatoes remain potatoes because they don't care anyway.

The last-online sorting seems to break when people on your friends list log off, in this case it's not something testers would have noticed without several testers randomly logging off. Regarding Hatamoto's arm pitch speed, yeah, that's a little odd, but easily fixed. If the arms don't get hotfixed today, then it was an intentional design decision.

By that logic Harebrained Schemes and Catalyst Game Labs shouldn't've had presentations because it's supposed to be about MWO.

Direct fire like straks with no arc at all or direct fire like ATMs with a lower arc?

Either way I don't think it was intended. They kinda need that arc to shoot over allies.

Also, I am still available for hire as offshore QA/Balance overlord. Dont miss it out PGI, it'll be cheaper and better than what you have now :)

From what i read so far they behave like ATMs when fired with LOS. And ATMs can shoot over allies quite well in most situations.

Yes, this is what PGI intended. It was said during Mech-Con that they would be changing the firing arc of LRM's. This change in my opinion will encourage folks to try to get LOS due to the shorter travel time & the ability to fire under platforms etc. If you are hitting anything other than what you are trying to hit with them then you will have to change the way you are using them & get a little closer to the front line as you must with ATM's & again, as PGI were intending. LOS is the new LRM meta(lol) for anyone who want's to be effective with them.

There is no reason to bring LRMS for direct fire. MRMs if you want direct fire missiles, but to be honest Lasers and Ballistics are the direct fire kings. The purpose of LRMS was being able to lob them over LOS obstacles to hit enemies you otherwise weren't able to hit. This change makes LOS LRMS silly because you might as well bring lasers/ballistics if you want to shoot straight ahead. They've in effect taken away the different flavor of LRMS to everything else.

People cried that LRM's were too OP as it was all to easy to just sit back at stupid ranges & fire blindly using locks provided by their dying team to farmdamage, PGI come up with something that goes some way to making this play style less desirable & still people cry. MRM's play nothing like LRM's or ATM's as they require a lock(yes you can dumbfire). You can still lob over obstacles & team mates if you do not have LOS & so again very different from MRM's. I honestly see nothing in this for anyone other than those that sat at the back to complain about.
