Roflberry: As far as I'm aware, it's one of the only reasons to take ER PPC's - in addition to the slightly longer range, they also have no minimum distance. A standard PPC should deal no damage under 90m. I think this difference between ER and standard is where the confusion comes from.

Also if you hit someone and deal no damage, you still display the hit circles on your HUD. It only means you hit the target, not that you did damage. This can easily be confirmed by using something like a TAG.

So people have hit with a standard PPC under 90m and seen the hit indicator. Others have been hit by an ER PPC under 90m and taken damage. Hence the confusion in the community!

Great stuff! It's really bothering me that missiles are red and energy is green, though; it's the exact opposite of how it was in Mechwarrior 4. Unfortunately it renders the first chart unreadable for me. =/

That be because MWO decided to use sustainable green energy for the giant killer robots. /pun

Ohm.

Awesome. I have these on my desk at all times.

One suggestion. I would swap your "left" and "right" columns to better represent how the paper doll looks in game. I.e. Since it's facing you, the left torso, would be on the right side of the paper-doll

Also, ALL of your XLS spreadsheet downloads are the WEAPONS one. Can you fix the links?

Also, you are missing a Jenner -D [Edit: never mind. Same as founders]

Thanks for all your hard work!

Can whoever knows how to do it (maybe the OP) check the files to make sure none of the values changed? I know that there are no weapons changes LISTED in the patch notes, but that doesn't mean they weren't :) about it. Something feels different... THANKS!

As mentioned by Arcturious it's the number of heatsinks needed to purge the heat generated by the shot by the next reload. If you have less than that then there will be heat left over by the time the weapon is ready to fire again, which will stack with the next shot unless you give your mech more time to cool.

Can you explain your formula for that data? Because I've wrote my own and yours doesn't seem to be correct after testing in game.

For example, you say you'd need 3 HS for Small Laser. In my data, you'd need 6.67 (7) HS.

OhmWrecker...Just wanted to let you know that your chart page stays up continuously on my desktop. By far the most useful tool I've found.

Thanks.

Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to put this together and keeping it up to date. I've referred to this thread so many times it's not funny. Absolute best thread on the forums IMO.

great data, sir.

question: would you be so kind as to give us a table with component/equipment hit points (or health)? in other words, is the data available somewhere for how much damage each component can take when there is no armor protecting it (not only engines and weapons, but also heat sinks and even skeleton (legs, arms)? thanks.

Haha, thanks! You know, I actually tried to work something out relating to my Youtube channel with PGI and the PR firm representing Mechwarrior Online already, but it didn't pan out. I just don't have the reach to have any sway, whereas places like PC Gamer do (and can get exclusive items to give away as a result, which of course brings them new readers).

I was told about another potential opportunity to do something cool with PGI, but they chose someone else from the guides community from what I understand. Oddly enough I hear all the time how helpful my guide is to community members, but I haven't heard a peep about it from anyone at PGI aside from when Garth made a post on the first page. Sometimes I wonder if anyone at PGI has visited the thread since the post was made (when it was just one less developed sheet), or if they've read any of the comments about the supposed impact it seems to have had on the community. :P

One cool thing though is that I will have Mechwarrior Online keys for a giveaway that'll be happening soon. 100 to be exact, although I'm guessing there will be many other sites doing the same thing.

I'll be doing my next update either today (Monday) or Tuesday. Had a lot of stuff fall on my plate at once, so I haven't been able to revisit the sheets yet. Don't worry though, it's on my to-do list!

I hate to say it, but I'm not really surprised you haven't heard anything. Unfortunately, the community management here is seriously lacking. Not to say I don't appreciate what we do get out of PGI, but we're really lacking the constant presence that a lot of other, better-managed, communities have. Yes, I do realize that is a full-time job, and that it takes money to do, but for a product with a community this active it would definitely be a boon.

Keep it up, Ohm, you've helped a lot of us make sense out of this game, and we love you for it :)
