Several of us enjoy the idea of the same maps we have getting reskins as Russ talked about in the Podcast with some added things like trees to change views or block shots. But what would you like to see for each map? Here are some ideas a couple of us thought of:

Alpine Peaks: Forest Mountain village
Canyon: River Valley Cliffs
Caustic: Caldera with a Lake
Crimson Straight: Night Time Hotel Resort Lagoon
Forest Colony: Dessert Dunes (Remove Water)
Frozen City: Farm Land Valley
Grim Plexus: Snowy Mining Colony
HPG Manifold: Jungle HPG Daytime
Polar Highland: Rolling Hills (With small forests in areas)
River City: Dust Bowl Dessert City (Dust Storms)
Rubellite Oasis: Night time Broken Moon Space Port
Terra Therma: Jungle Mountains/Cliffs
Mining Collective: Day Metal Works Facility (has molten pits that increase heat if stepped on)
Tourmaline Desert: Teal Crystal and Blue Tree Forest
Viridian Bog: Minding Hills (Like the small mining towns that dig into mountains for ore)
Sol City: Ruined Metropolis

What are your ideas?

Bud...they said they would in the PodCast. I said that in the actual first post. So...yes...they are.

Ha! Ok child, I will see you eat your words. FYI, unless you are 50 and played before beta like I did, dont claim things you no little about. Yes a few things they did not do, but there is a lot more they have done what they say and other things they didnt say they would do but said they would TRY and could not. Pay attention next time unlearned one.

It would also have the added benefit of seriously discouraging players from giving up the top and dropping down into the gullies...

Even a little bit of variety goes a long way.

Besides, we used to have exactly that, at least for Forest Colony, with both a normal and a snow version. It'd make an even bigger difference now that there are so many trees all over the place on that map- New!Forest Snow could have better visibility with most of its tree cover down, but still have several blocked passes like old Forest Snow. Make just enough changes to break up the normal flow and aesthetic of each map, and call it good.

This is exactly what im talking about. I would love this. Think about it, with the announced old maps coming back in March plus getting re-skins Russ mentioned we can now easily have over DOUBLE the maps we currently have. THAT WOULD BE FUN!

I think the push for the old maps is odd(and have ever since this was a thing), but think re-texturing the maps, with slight alterations is a solid idea.

Really interesting how removing the vegetation and adjusting visibility could change how that map plays.

Polar highlands - desert
Polar highlands - green fields
Polar highlands - bog'n'fog
Polar highlands - vitric forge style
Polar highlands - HPG style cold moon

But why? Because polar highlands is never enough!

Alpine peaks - heavy forest or jungle.
They absolutely need to port assets from the FP maps to the QP ones and vice versa. We have only one example of that.
