I do. I picked the Mauler and the dakka build is garbage. Posted Image

Lol, I did the same, its great... except on alpine, its torso pitch is atrocious. What are you running as dakka? Without skills I'm finding the 4LB10x works better than the stock 4UAC5, a bit cooler.

Do not regret my decision for the Kodiak or to sell it off for C-Bills and a Mechbay that i don't really need at the moment. Mauler is great though with x6 AC2s/UAC2s, x4 LB-10s... the x4 UAC5 build is best left for the 1R for cooldown.

Still A-OK with having sold the Kodiak-3. Now the KDK-3 I already have in my inventory... Posted Image

Anyway, OP, if you don't like dakka on the MX90 (understandable, Annihilator is better for that), try this.

I got the NightStar. And completed the whole set.

Struggled to find a build on it. 2 LBX-20s worked a few times, but hardly dominating when there are assaults hitting harder and soaking more damage.

Currently on quad AC5s with one SRM and two meds. At least its hardpoints are better than the Cataphract 4x.

I prefer my other NSRs, but no regrats.

Don't regret it, but to be honest the zeus I picked up isn't among my favorite assaults. I already had nearly all the actually good mechs, so i went a little different. It's not terrible, but can't seem to put together a great build for it.

Orion IIC (A) is the best variant of that chassis. No regrets. To be honest, the selection wasn't super awesome to begin with.

Cool choices there, guys. I wanted to get the HeIllbringer but since I realized how omnimechs works, I just bought a regular one for C-bills and modified it. I'm loving that so far. But the Mauler....*sigh*

For those of you wondering what my dakka Mauler is, well, I tried a bunch of different ones.... stock 4 UAC5, didn't like it. 6 AC2, meh. 2 AC2 and 3 RAC2, ugh! The problem is that it needs so much face time and I can barely dish out reasonable damage. To give an e.g., I started firing on a Kodiak while he wasn't looking. I had 3 RAC2 and 2 AC2 on full throttle for about 3 seconds. He turned, fired something and I was nearly cored in the centre. That's basically what's happening with the dakka builds.

I then switched the loadout to include 2 LRM 15, Tag and 4 AC2. It was so underwhelming. And I died in all the matches that I've played. It seems like having range has done nothing for the survivability since just a couple of shots removes almost all of my maxed out FCT and both FST armour.

Not really I just picked up the HGN IIC C just to finish my collection of non hero variants of that mech. Plus I got a soft spot for that mech, something bout it let me keep them around.

My five AC 5 mauler MX90 has worked for me just fine since i joined about 3 yrs ago . I saw an interesting build on mech specs , that had two mrm 30 , two snub PPC,s and six Mach guns . I was going to try that if i grabbed a 4th mauler which i would have regretted if i had . Grand Prizes should be exciting and unique not an add on to just disappear among your 4 or 5 same mechs .

Nope. No regrets from my side . Played with Kodiak and Nightstar daily so far .

I regret the mauler. I just like the other ones more and I'm not a fan of face-time builds anymore, apparently.

My Mauler works well, maybe you have yours in Backo pattern?
(For thos that dont know backo pattern is a operation style. Excavator pattern is totally different by the way.)
