MWO's loot boxes are super disappointing, but I'd rather have this than the gaming industry standard of heavily emphasizing loot boxes and making them mandatory for game progression.

The different text colors make it super rare. It's like opening that rare crate and getting a new flamer.

The last ultra rare i got before the mega sale came with 1000 MC, a couple cockpit items and a cXL325. They aren't too bad.

Haven't gotten any MC in a supply cache since they changed them... but I also haven't had to pay for anything that was in one.

However underwhelming... free stuff is free.

Just out of curiosity, coz I've only ever gotten common caches, is it a chance to get an ultra rare cache when the bar fills? Or it is predetermined?

I think it is just random. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the type and yeah I think theyre pretty cool. Free stuff is free even if it is cockpit stuff I wont use.

Random chance. You're more likely to get Common/Uncommon, but there is a slight chance to get a couple rare ones in a row or ultra rare.

This is how I interpret the loot. The rarity tag on the item is not the rarity of the item per se, but the rarity of the item in the context of the loot table within the particular loot crate itself.

So for example, the 400MC is a Common item within the Ultra Rare crate, while the 2 cockpit items and 1 STD engine are rare items in the Ultra Rare crate. So it's not that the 400MC is a Common item, it's a common roll in the Ultra Rare crate to give you a higher chance to get that 400MC if you open an Ultra Rare crate.

All I know is there is an upper limit to how many targetting computers I can receive... surely. I think a VI is the only thing I am missing so far. Between targetting computers, clan flamers and letter decals, I have lost faith there is actually anything else in loot crates recently.

Still, free stuff is free stuff, and the higher level TCs do sell for a bit.
