This would make for a great Dragon Fire Warhorn:

Mech builds are not really my field of expertise, but what about this: 2 LB-10X (in arms), 4 ERML (2 in ct and 2 in left torso), and MRM10 (in right torso), default XL300\endo-steel\standard armor, 2JJ, ECM, 2 additional DHS, 4 tons of LB-10X ammo and 2 tons of missile ammo, in remlab i end up with 0.5 unused tonnage and 3 slots with full 14.5 tons of armor so stripping even 0.5 can add 1 more DHS.
It brings missile hardpoint (or maybe even two) in right torso and with head energy hardpoint it makes 5E 2B 1(2)M.

This is probably stupid idea but i just love LBX\MRM\ML combination in MWO for medium range.

I don't think it's stupid but it does make it extremely similar to a Thanatos as you can run that build on it. Sure it's a Thanatos but I'm pretty certain that it could do that build.

Very nice start. Posted Image I think it would look better if the legs were a bit longer and bigger, but that is my only complaint.
And thanks for doing the 1st Alarion Jäger!

MWO don't need another Mech Pack. It needs content.

What sort of content as those that would normally makes maps are working on MW5, along with most of the coders.

PGI depends on mech packs for income so the packs will keep coming to keep the servers live. I'd like maps, new weapons and equipment, etc as much as anyone else but I do want to see MWO keep going but I also have a preference for which mechs to get added.

I like the yellow skin. I like to see it fleshed some more.

These are from other games, but these reminds me of the yellow mech you drew above.

Thank you! Was thinking about my favorite muscle car Buick GSX then draw this yellow variant.

You know I think it'd be a fun nod to the artists if their personalized paint jobs got used for the special or "S" variant. Fed0t's muscle car inspired paint job, etc.

So we just got a medium with the Dervish and we've gotten several assaults on the IS side so I think the next IS mech will be a light or a heavy and heavies tend to sell better, etc, so how about the Dragon Fire?

I think when they release MW:5 they could return to making Mechs from the FCCW-era. But unfortunately not before that.

Of course, it depends on what model of monetarization they choose for MW:5. If they start selling Mech packs for MW:5 we might have a problem. Either way, I am afraid we have to sit through another number of SW-era Mechs. That is not necessarily bad, but I still think the Dragon Fire would be better than the vast majority of them.

(But tbh, I could not resist an Exterminator).

Yeah it does seem 3025-ish mechs are more the focus atm. Maybe they're trying to get ppl to come back to the game by using the big nostalgia mechs?

Still I maintain that with enough interest that they'll take notice. However it is also true that we don't know how long in advance they plan which mechs they'll announce.

Pretty sure all the "big nostalgia 'mechs" are already in game or in limbo due to HG. Can't imagine many people are coming back to the game for the Dervish or Charger.

On the subject of the Dragon Fire itself, assuming the proper variants get the proper hardpoint inflation, the mounts/cockpit are acceptably high, and the geometry isn't atrociously bad... I could see myself picking this up for C-Bills at some point. Which isn't really a ringing endorsement, but is definitely more than I can say for the vast, vast majority of 'mechs.

Well I was thinking more of the Warhammer IIc & Marauder II but I would say the Dervish has had notable nostalgia from what I've seen. Indeed it has also done very well in polls as well so it certainly has fans. Of course I have no evidence, I'm just hypothesizing.

I would say the geo is potentially very good. Of course we just never know what PGI will end up doing with it. The ideal would be Marauder style hitboxes but with a smaller side profile. Basically a great frontal profile with mostly cockpit height weapons.

I don't put too much faith in those polls. They also had the Hellspawn in the lead at one point and that was a rarity even on release, totally vanishing from the game within basically hours. Especially when it comes to lighter Mechs (not heavy, not assault) people seem to cast votes without much intention of actually buying or even just using the Mech. I mean look at how few light pilots there are, yet the light Mechs have exactly the same number of votes to them as the heavies. The number should be lower if only people who actually use lights voted for them.

The Dervish may be a 3025 classic but the fact that it comes so late to MWO, although there was no legal dispute, shows how far down the list this Mech is. It is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. I think PGI just hopes it is popular thanks to the 3025-label.
If anything the choice is once more dominated by MW:5, and it shows PGI's reluctance to release less well known Mechs - no matter how much fun they'd be.

Well I do think polls have their place but it is true that they only mean so much. Certainly how a mech handles in game will override the nostalgia that got the vote cast.

In a way it's encouraging if we're only competing with barrel scrapings. We just keep pushing and showing that these mechs are desired.
