1. The tempo had noticeably picked up for PSR Tier 4/5 QP games, perhaps due to inactive players returning, finding that they have been "reset" to Tier 5...
They may have returned due to MWO Comp
Once the dust settles, these players will either "graduate" (with you!) into Tier 3/2/1 and leave Tier 5 alone.
Or they return to their dormant state, leaving QP alone...
Either way, the QP Tier 5 action should slow down after a few weeks/months...
2. What you are asking about (stuck in Tier 5) is essentially how PSR Tier leveling works, how to make it a "green up arrow" at the end of a match... and there are lots of such threads around on this Forum... here are some quick pointers:
~Are you
sure that you are fighting QP in Tier 5? Were you in a Group, and this Group somehow played in other Tiers other than Tier 5 (I
think it depends on the Tier of the Group Leader).
~Dealing 800+ damage is
very respectful in Tier 5, so perhaps you had Team Damage or even Team Kill? That really knocks your PSR level down.
~Equipping AMS, destroying missiles aimed at your teammates (and not yourself) also nets you Kill Assist upon that enemy dying.
~Doing 6+ Kill Assists really helps your PSR level, the more the better.
~Well placed UAV really helps your PSR level (triggers rewards such as scouting, ECM Counter, etc.)
~In general, your PSR level up/down depends on how well you contribute in your own 12-man Team,
and how well you did in the entire 24-man fighting roster (including opponent team!).
~Just yesterday I had 500+ damage game, no kill, 3 assists, and my PSR level was "Equal Sign" meaning no up and no down for PSR. I was shocked. A number of our team members did 600-700 damage and a few kills. Which is
high for Tier 5. Definitely returning MWO Comp players returning to play MWO.
