I Left Mwo (So What?)

I left MWO following a 2000h+ into the game, not because of the tweaking to the weapon systems, nor the trees or other game decisions. I further compliment your support crew for professional responses.
The thing that pushed me away, was the inability to play with friends. Group queues took often more than an hour to get a game in (Europe prime time 8 -10 pm), and doing a synced drop on solo-quick play only works with a margin. Playing with a few friends in group queues turned to playing with one friend synced dropping over the past years. A game that can't be played with friends, while it is supposed to be, that's a flaw. A massive one at it.
The second thing that was quite annoying was having maps forced down my throat by other players. When the game is good, its bearable. In a dying game as it seemed to me, it was the nail to my coffin.
I played faction. Its flaws might be well known to you. What bugged me beyond the regular flaws, was that as I mostly enjoyed lights and mediums, as IS I was more or less unable to bring them to the table without being detrimental to the team (armor sharing). For clans, the tonnage limitation of 240 was very favorable in the past, as I got away with two assaults and two lights.
But truly, I could stand a couple hundred more hours in LRM rain on polar highlands, if it was with my buddies. But alone? Nah, I've found another game.
For what it means, I do hope the game revives. I hope you consider these aspects in future updates to MWO.

No reason to be a ****.
The guy got fed up, decided to leave. He was polite about it, and clearly articulated his reasons.
Felt pretty neutral of a bye to me.
Not like "have your stuff" aholes.
Oh well.
I don't agree with his reasons btw.

So many other things that make it hard to retain new players and expand.

I don't see a viable business model to keep a F2P game alive without some incentive to spend money. I think that is where the grind comes in for skill XP and/or Mech upgrades. If you are suggesting that all Mechs come with a 91 point pilot and fully upgraded from the outset, I'm wondering how the game stays afloat... camouflage and decal sales? People already believe the colour prices are outrageous.

So I left for Planetside 2. That game has tons of its own problems, but when everything sucks you can at least chat with buddies and fins something fun for your group to do. And it doesn't matter if you have a whole squad or there's just two of you. You can always group up and always find a meaningful way to contribute to a fight.

how is that relevant? just because other games are toxic it justifies all this BS? the community is already very small and this place isn't exactly newbie friendly. So instead of trying to attract more people so you dont have to queue for 2 hours, you come and ***** on the forums to what.... make yourself feel better?

Because this forum is hardly toxic at all and our Dear Moderators do a pretty good job of ensuring it stays that way (for better or worse). Even the complaints about this or that OP, misguided or not, are borne out of a desire to have a better game. That's, like, the opposite of toxic.
This forum is also incredibly newbie friendly. So is the Reddit.

Trying to get a game in group queue in Oceanic TZ is very diffficult.
1. We have too many servers now and seeing as for quick play we have players who don't select all three it effectively has created 6 quick play queues (3 solo and 3 group). We should consolidate back to the 1 NA server.
2. There is no flexibility in the match maker to cater for lulls in the active population in any of the queues. I don't particularly want to restrict team sizes, but the system needs flexibility so that if it cannot put a 12v12 together within a short timeframe that it tries for 8v8 and if it can't do that, 4v4.
It's unfortunate that we have quite a good population of players who want to play the game but simply can't because they can't get a match.
In Oceanic we did a good test a few weeks ago (thanks to JayZ) where we asked players to form up in lances and drop into group queue. When it got going it was glorious. Regular drops and the teams mixed around so one team didn't roll the queue.
But based on the numbers, it seemed like we had a total of perhaps 8x 4 player groups running for a few hours and that might have been it.
Had the system had the flexibility to allow for smaller team matches, we might have enjoyed a bit of variety in the team sizes but everyone would have played continuously.
Simply: If we cannot play the game, we will stop trying to play the game.

If I am in a boat that is sinking I hope the people who know where the hole is say something rather than just jumping ship.
Silly analogy aside though I have never really understood why people get so salty about exit posts. It's good to know when and why someone has given up on the game so maybe if it is something relavant you can address it.
Alot of subscription games have an exit survey for this very reason. And ya at times I was the guy quiting that game and gave my reasons. On two different occasions I recieved emails down the road from said games with patch notes that actually addressed my very concern. That got me to resub and play for a few months. Something I would not have done if they had not actually addressed the issue I had. What was entertaining to me was that the people I knew that played that game said that the particular issue I had a problem with would never be addressed. I guess enough people must have put it in the exit survey that they eventually thought "Hmmm this is costing us money I guess we should fix it".
MWO should have a proper exit survey even if it is a free to play game. Rather than a forum post that gets shot down by trolls (not so much this thread, no one has been too rude but I expect it to escalate as these threads usually do).
Also there are alot of people who linger. Who enjoyed this game enough to keep following it hoping something will be addressed. I am certainly in that camp as I did try to play during the invasion event out of curiosity about how many gold mechs I might see. Alas I played two matches in an Adder with dual PPC's for the hell of it and realized that PPC hit reg was not working (for me) as somehow 10 dual PPC volleys into various mechs somehow only came up as 44 damage. Which I suspect was mostly my flamer. Went back to Planetside 2 at that point.
So let people post exit posts. If no one says where the water is coming in then the hole certainly will never get plugged. Though to be honest I think it might be to late for that as this ship is wallowing so low in the water now that one decent wave is gonna capsize it.

Said customer brings the matter to the attention of the company, and states clearly and concisely why they will no longer be doing business with said company, unless certain changes are made.
Not Salty.
How many have ever done similar? Anywhere?
Ever have unsatisfactory service at a restaurant? Or a shop? Ever order something, some kind of item, and when you received it, it wasn't what you thought it would be, or you were unhappy with the quality of the product? Ever register your dissatisfaction with the responsible company? Did that mean you were "Being Salty"?
MOST businesses want to know when their customers are unhappy/unsatisfied.

This thread will be thrown into the abyss as a "Farewell" thread, which is against the Forum rules... Just know, that PGI will not read this only the volunteer moderators who honestly don't care if you play or not.

Can't blame PGI if the playerbase is choosing to play Solo... are you asking PGI to Force players to play in group Que? if not there is NOTHING PGI can do about it, quit whining.
