somebody mentioned cockpit screens earlier in this thread.

Can the Devs replace the Kill Counter (as it usually the biggest cockpit screen) with a Rear View?

Seeing a PIR is sneaking up behind my KGC makes those fishies alot less scary.

And rear view would lead to more interesting brawls IMHO. And would prob lessen the "just dropped and hey I didn't need that leg armor anyhow bud" blues.

Consider it PGI, please

If not for MWO than for MW5 (ideally both)

I would rather have the rear view camera display put in place of one of the other cockpit monitors that don't have a purpose currently instead of replacing the only usable monitor with it.

That does provide an interesting idea, DevilsRectm.
I'd be quite happy with a rear-view-screen; perhaps eve offer the functionality for multipl-monitor setups?

I like the idea of a rear-view monitor but the technical problem I foresee is that this would likely cause the game to have to render a whole new image, like how the high detail scopes in Insurgency have to render the game twice. It's taxing on the hardware and people struggle to run the game enough as it is.

Any of the screens in the cockpit would be fine by me. Rear view could also act like the minimap, hit a bound key and it expands to take up more screen space, standard setting would be a thumbnail sized image of the action behind you so as not to use too much system resources.

Please fix the Assaults I drive a Fafnir and the armor is crap now. It's not right that a lite shoots 2 blasts in me and it's dead.

Dear PGI.

Can you please remove the WHR IIC ST missile pods when they are not in use?
its hideous to have a missle pod sticking out of the mech when it is unused and empty,
especially so on the Bludgeon as its only on the right ST.

Anyone else found that MW5 pre order stuff hasn't been injected (chloe's cavalier warhorn etc)?

And yes, I've checked that I have the bundle redeemed in my account history.

I've just checked the FP update post and it says that the update is coming out in march and april. We'll have to wait a bit longer.

In order to get your MW5 Themed Content for MWO you will need to redeem the code associated with that content release from your profile page: https://mw5mercs.com/profile

Translation - we've given up trying to fix this bug, so we removed some realism and completely removed the cause.

I don't know about you, but it feels to me like that's just lazy game design.. especially since this bug has been in-game for literally years..

Come on guys.. try harder Posted Image

Fun fact - those door shadows moved perfectly in tune with the mech in third person view. I have a lot of catapults, and an archer, and I checked on all of these - 1st person is wonky and floated, third person you saw them move elegantly alongside the mech. So it's not a matter of "The doors were coded not to move along and it's a pain to code it entirely", it was a matter of "We ****** up the code somewhere in first vs third person view and can't be bothered finding out where so kill it with fire I guess".

Probably because you were the only one caring about this issue. And since in most professional studios even very simple fixes require quite some overhead (e.g. testing/QA to ensure the fix did not break anything, merging the fix in source control, updating the task in project management software, updating changelog, ect.), those issues which only cause aesthetic problems for very few players are usually priotized extremely low.

So much broke stuff can do that to a studio. If you built it right the first time, you wouldn't have that problem.

Not on a dead engine on the game they'll be killing soon.

PGI/IGP - "We don't want to divide the mechwarrior community."

That is what they told MW:LL before it was stopped. I wonder what will be their reasoning for killing MWO. Probably won't happen as it will take years for MW5 to have enough content to compare to MWO currently.
