Even if we play an epic round or make a great last-stand while the rest of our team falls apart - the payout for a loss is abysmal.

By contrast, if we spend our time yelling at clouds and our team wins, we're awarded (especially with premium time) with a bounty that would make even the most superior of royals blush.

By all means, award players for doing well and being part of a winning team - there are many things people do that are difficult or impossible to quantify by algorithm, but the contrast is absurd.

This unnecessary discrepancy has lingered for years; I feel strangely like you've listened to other feedback recently - can you please re-examine match rewards?

On an adjacent issue, I know you've invested in the whole reward for time-played cache thing, but again almost everything in them is inconsequential and divorced from what's going on in the game.

Please consider changing them so that instead, at the end of a match we have a chance at salvage that's actually relevant to builds we use. I have enough targeting computers and SRM-2 Artemis.

It makes no sense to me to parade glorious supply caches as a prize to pursue and reward us for our continued loyalty, only to troll us with cheap socks & underwear that don't even fit.

Edit: Patched spelling to bring it in line with more conventional standards.

Premium definitely takes the edge off losses provided it's not a complete route. But it's kinda always been that way. And given how the matchmaker makes you feel like you're going to lose at least half the matches. You'd think they'd be a bit more generous with losses. To at least cover for the low population and messed up matchmaker. ;o

I don't think you'll see any major changes to the current economy. This said there are things you can do to increase your income. That...primarily consists of exploiting utilizing the reward system as much as possible.

TBH you shouldn't get anything for a loss. In fact, bring back repair/reload so if you consistently throw games, you end up going bankrupt. Maybe that will teach people to pay attention instead of yoloing/running away to preserve KDR.

Pretty sure you get a smaller payout on a tie than a loss.

And if you play well enough, score enough damage/KMDDs you still get a lot of Cbills, not as much, but still.

That's a big no from me. Why? Because if there is an event up all the grindy players will come out of hiding and start doing stupid things just to finish the event without caring about winning the match.
All of us also have these days when we get nothing but losses, which we can't control most of the time.
So, I wouldn't want to lose all of my money just because I was unlucky enough to be on a losing team several times.

Losers gets to pay the Winners

It is almost impossible to make a loss in this game. I have come close to breaking even in a rout where I used 2 consumables, but otherwise always make 50k or so min profit on even the worse losses.

I came from world of tanks. It is normal to make losses on okay wins in the upper tiers. Tier 9 and 10 tanks cost about 50 times more than the match profit margin compared to most mechs here.

The point? Wot has literally thousands of times the players MWO has. I don't think match profit margins here are the issue. MWO is, in its.present economy, by far the most generous F2P I have ever seen. With all the specials, no FP or Solaris, I have 30 odd mechs, 5 empty bays, about 7 hero/champ mechs, 40 mil or so credits, enough MC for another 10 mechbays... and my total outlay is $5.

I have never had to grind credits. I grind skills and the credits just happen. The economy is Such a pleasant change from other F2P,.

Bring back the R&R and i will definitely use trial mechs / drop without fully repaired, good luck if u are in the same team with me.

If you do enough for your team then you will be paid well regardless of loss. I had many 300K lost matches in QP.

As someone who consistently looses more than he wins, and has for years, I say QP payouts in terms of c-bills are fine, but XP they could use a little boost across the board, just to help with the grind. Now if you want to talk FP, then yeah, I agree payouts on a loss need to be jacked up big time, if for no other reason than to attract casual players to the mode. Folks, especially casual players, need more of an incentive to invest in that mode.

Yep. People need to Git Good or be forced to stop playing.

Um, bruh, repair and rearm will make running away even more prevalent because you get penalized for engaging in combat (have to pay for any ammo you shoot and any damage you receive). MWO does not have a problem with people being "yolo" rushers, we have a problem with people refusing to engage. We don't need to punish the few people who do actually fight robots like they're supposed to.

Exactly. The majority of the time, the guys who go on suicide charges are the ones who are fed up with the rest of their team huddling up in one spot and refusing to do anything but make timid pokes at the one enemy that's 1000 meters out, while the rest of the enemy team is rolling up on their flank unopposed. There's no need to penalize anyone who would rather go down fighting than sit in a hole for 9 minutes and get picked apart.

Excellent idea. "Hey newbies, you're no good, not going to have any cash to improve your situation, go away and let me lavish in a dying game because . . . well, there's nobody left to play against!"

Said noobs get free to use mechs every time, plus extra payouts on their first few matches... when I started playing, I had to pay $200 for my first 4 mechs...

Yup. If they would have a addressed the awfulness of the tier system and the consequential disaster that is the MM when they introduced the system originally then maybe we could play people of similar skill, and the NPE as well a general player retention could have actually been a thing. But nope. The real tier 1 players get to play with the likes of me and even some who are worse. Nobody wins in this system. But this is a different topic than that of payouts.

I got space rich just by using a c-bill boosted mech in my favorite class using only pt got from events. I still have months of banked pt from light heroes I bought ages ago. You can easily get rich just by playing the game a lot.
