Mech Change After Map Select

However, no one ever explains how the select a mech after map and game mode would work.
I assume the process is currently like this:
1. Hit search for game;
2. MM finds teams and "balances" them on weight and PSR.
3. People see map voting mini game.
4. Game starts
If you were able to select a mech after the map then you could get real imbalances in the teams.
So the only way I can think to make such a thing work is have the player select 4 mechs of exactly the same weight before hitting search and have the ability to select one of those mechs after the map is selected.
Perhaps you could sell it for MC buy an additional slot for X MC per month

Map voting may not be as practical... well, even less so with the 4 additional maps added to the rotation in March and another in May. It should probably be removed.
Voting for the mode on the map might be an alternative if we still want voting but there is also the line of thought that getting games in quick play should be the simplest, fastest way to play.
Select a mech, click a button, done.
In which case, less delays to getting into the match are better.

Frankly it has never bothered me in the slightest, but I like a problem to think about.
Seems the consensus is that no one really wants to select mechs after map has been selected.

If you switch within a class, you could potentially end up with one side having all the 40 ton Mechs and the other having all 55 tonners...
For me, it would already work if I could switch to a different type within the same chassis. Get Polar as a map? I better get my Crab 27 with 5 tons of AMS ammo. Canyon? Oh, the jump jets on the 27SL would be useful. Still have an AMS on there... Solaris City? 27B here I come... And so on and so forth...
As far as map voting goes, some people like it, others do not. I like it, btw. Random maps, all on the same rotation, would annoy the hell out of me as long as a number of maps gives an advantage to certain spawn sides. I still get those maps every now and then, but at least not as often as I would if they were random.
