Just had a very good FW game a few days ago. Every time I get on I'm able to get a FW match. Maybe you're not logging on at the right times of day?

Yep, I dropped solo yolo in FW and found myself in a group of them. Was even graced with McGoat's angelic voice.

There was an hour gap or so where ther was no games but outside of that seems to be OK. Usually is Fri/Sat/Sun evening (Oceanic Time).

Problem is there is usually only 12 on each side. So if you miss the drop, you're gonna wait a while.

The time stamp on that screen shot shows 10:30 utc which would be 5:30 est, 8:30am AEST.

Would it be safe to say that the peak time for FP would be about 3 hours later once the Western US states are getting into their afternoon stint?

Pugged 3 matches on Saturday around 1:00PM US Central. Admittedly the group I ended up with was mostly the same all three times. We got soundly beat twice by the same opposing group and then soundly stomped again by a different better group (Ash, Nightbird, and friends), but that is here nor there. The point is that people are still playing the mode, both pugs and groups. Imho, it feels like GQ. Dead outside of certain windows (or at least really long wait times) but during regional prime times getting a match is no biggie, with perhaps slightly longer wait times than “back in the day”.

I've only ever played QP and am on the point of quitting before rupturing a cerebral vein. I don't understand how the more team-based aspects of the game actually work--how to access FP, how to join a Faction or find a group, what I need to have in my mech inventory, etc.

Is there a reference somewhere that spells all this out in simple terms?

I'd appreciate any guidance.

Top right of the screen, the button labeled "Faction Play". Joining a Faction requires you to choose a career (loyalist, merc, freelancer) and then the faction. Beyond the Clan/IS divide it's largely cosmetic.

Nor salty, Honest...... The whole point of the game "was" FP.......and, PGI just couldn't make it happen.... That's the sad part and everyone else went to QP that I know.... Only a hand full left unfortunately.

I'm an "old timer" and due to new job I am home more now, and due to MW5 teasing me.. I have returned.

After a 2 years, I find almost none of my old mates are on..

SO I started to try to recruit via LFG, but that has been slow.

The Forum posts I find are really old or just people bitching..

I tried Solaris... that was unplayable ( I do acknowledge I suck solo.. I am a total team player ).

Most everything I see here mimics what I have seen. I THINK The main thing this game needs is Coms at ALL TIMES... WHY when you make a group in LFG, and get a group going the ONLY time you can chat is if you have a offline option that they use as well.. ( rare ), or during the short readyup period... Seriously WoT has had ingame chat for those with headsets since its inception. How is that NOT built into the game yet ? How come is it so hard for them to code it ? Then maybe added to a voice activated talk ( similar to Discord ).

THAT is what I find the most limiting factor. Also how come with a game set on setting up factions, there is no way to actively do recruiting.. similar to LFG..? LFU ? LFF ?

As much as this game has improved and changed the last few years, the simple communication piece to me seems the biggest missing piece, and its ALWAYS been this bad.

As for dropping in Faction, its hit or miss for me.. But to be honest the wait time is often in excess of 10-40 minutes with a small group, almost never when solo.. and when adults only have 2-3 hours to play a game.. thats just far too long. I would think times like right now.. ( 11PM EST on a Saturday night ) would be the most popuated time.. but I can't seem to get a FW drop right now as a solo.

Anyway... I'm recruiting.. OR looking for a Unit.. because as noted earlier.. I like to play and chat ( over mic ) with others.. playing this with no socializing.. kind of sucks.
