Almost forgot to collect those 3 additional prizes per phase!

I was using overall event link for bags and never payed attention to phase main rewards link.

Finished on two accounts. Far exceeded the damage (over 250,000) and the assists requirements. 1425MC on one account and 1590MC on the other. I didn't bother calculating gxp and cbills because both accounts are swimming in that already.

Wow. I just finished earning all of the loot bags. I earned my free mech and mountain pattern a few days ago, but had more loot bags to get. I was going for the warhorns. ;)

Took me 212 matches and 78,765 damage to get all the way to that last kill assist. That was crazy grindy, but fun. By the end though, the focus on kill assists started getting weird, because I found myself holding back, maiming other mechs, then not going for the kill because I wanted the stupid assist, lol. What are you trying to train me to do, PGI?? ;)

Now to buy a Fafnir.

I don't see the point in counting total matches since I don't make any changes to how often I play because of events. Anyone reasonably competent could knock off all 200 bags in only 25 faction matches.

So I've been playing for a year and this has been the absolute worst event I've ever participated in. Linking loot bags to damage and assists just means that if I have a bad game I don't even have a chance at making progress, I've had over 250 matches now and have less then 150 loot bags. The only reason I'm going to get the free mech is because I spent money on the game and got bonus loot bags. If this had of been the event when I joined last year I wouldn't have stuck around or spent money on the game. If this is the direction the game takes in the future I don't think I'll continue playing it. It penalizes crummy players like myself for not being good.

I only got one Triskelion Warhorn. :( Was hoping for more. I got every single loot bag, gunning for those warhorns.

Well I end the event hating and feeling burnt out of Mechwarrior. Played another 5 hours today, hoping to get that last 25 lootbags so I could get the paint, all I could manage was 21, probably a good 12 matches short of getting the last 4. when you're averaging 100 damage a game getting that 500 for a lootbag seems pretty far off. I'm not sure I want to play this game anymore never mind spend money on it. This has been one of the worst experiences I've had in a video game in recent memory.

I don't mean to be rude, but averaging 100 dmg, you've got more serious problems than a missed opportunity to get an at best mediocre camo.

I'm terrible and yet I'm somehow tier 2 despite having lost 52% of my games, I got forced up into tier 2 just before this event and I wonder if being at a higher tier forced me into more competitive matches. I've had success in the past, even a couple 1000 damage matches, but for this event I really struggled.

1) pretty sure an untrained monkey or blonde, oranged-faced baboon could hit T1 in 6 months, just getting carried by accident.
2) except for the most populated times, participation is so low that tier means nothing as they'll throw any 24 people into a game just so that it will happen.

I don't know if you were grinding QP, Group (is that even around anymore???), or FP, but a lot can depend on your prep for the mode. In other words, play QP like you have 11 useless cats on your side that should NOT be followed nor will follow you... I know that is a rather negative view, but if you solo drop expecting team work or equipping force multipliers you can't personally use... you will find yourself disappointed... often...

@MovinTarget: I guess I have been fairly lucky in my QP drops, because I can usually find one or two people in my team, who are both interested in and able to work together. I managed to very, very barely break the damage limit... 50 128? damage or so before I had to give up with about 42 minutes of event remaining (and feeling dead tired, event ended during early morning hours here) and still missing about 58? assists. Had the event lasted a day or two longer (or I had had a bit less time away from computers) I would have gotten the assists as well.

Co-operation during the events allowed especially my Archer to achieve improved results, I actually played multiple games during the longer event where I got 2 or 3 kills (, which for me is generally rather rare) and I managed several 500+ damage games (I tend to get somewhat less than that), on the MS side a few went 400+, which for me is far from common. I actually managed to make my progress bar visible again, so I am still very deeply tier 5, but no longer at the very bottom of it... :)

@PGI: The long event was generally fun and I am extremely grateful for all the nice loot bags I got, but for the future events, please try to make the goals a little bit less grindy... or perhaps, just a bit more step by step... So instead of one prize at 50 000 damage only, something tiny for 10 000, 20 000, 30 000, 40 000 and then sort of mini-grand prize for 50 000. That way, those who do not finish completely, still get some things and those who are able to play enough to go all the way, get a bit more. Some of the the mini goals were just perfect. :) Thank you for those! :)

I also very much liked both the Tetatae and the Dad bot events! <3 All in all, keep up the good work! :)

Just remembet, match score is on *partially* based on kills and damage. After a match where you get an unusually high or low MS look at your personal performance tab; the middle column shows you what you did to earn your score.

I find assists, using well timed uavs, and ams to be quite helpful.

Finally, this game rewards aggressive team play, if you *do* happen into a team that is willing to push, you are better off up in the front than in the back.

Oh, and you mentioned using an Archer... I won't assume you are LRM boating, but if you are, please pack some backup weapons and tTAG/BAP

@MovinTarget: I have AMS pretty much on every mech that can mount it, use UAVs like bread (= often 2 per match) and my Archer does have backup weapons (medium lasers)), no TAG, though. I primarily reserve TAG for my light mechs and when using those, try to radio data on what is "lit" to my team. :)

Since the postings about Earnings got started, and I managed to finish the Lucky Charms 2019 Event, here's mine...
  • 6 Lucky Charms Decals
  • 16 Cockpit Items (9 WarHorns!)
  • 23 Consumables
  • 1290 (MC)
  • 9100 GXP
  • 7.4 Million (C-Bills)
  • 6 Days Active Premium Time (OUCH!!!)
  • Orion IIC "ON1-IIC-A(C)" Mech
  • Jenner IIC "Mountain Line" Camo
...and I unpacked all of that after...
  • 8:10 PM UTC on 2019-04-01
  • About 220 to 225 Games Played (had some "lemon games" that did not count toward Decals)
  • All 200 Normal Event Loot Bags Earned
  • All Pick-A-Prize's Unlocked
  • A mind-breaking grind to reach the Finish
  • A long decision-making process to figure out what Grand Prizes would make great picks
...which if it weren't for the other two Events that overlapped on the end of this, I probably would have broken down entirely & instantly. Oh, I'm very thankful for the Lucky Charms Event and getting everything which I've earned. I'm also extremely thankful for the Extra 24 Hours that the Event got after a Site-Breaking Server Outage which happened. There's no question about that, and I've safely tucked away what I can within the reaches of my Mech Garage. Loot Bag Events are always good to have, with all the things one can pick up from them. :D

But, I would suggest to PGI's Events Team for the future that they only ask for 400 Damage per Loot Bag (40000 Damage total for 100 Bags), and no more than 7 Kill Assists per Loot Bag (still needing 525 Kill Assists in total for 75 Bags). People were getting way too selfish in trying to get Loot Bags, and that's not conducive to a Loot Bag Event avoiding massive unnecessary stress upon the Community in general. Frankly, I think they could even use 3 Savior Kills per Loot Bag (225 Savior Kills in total for 75 Loot Bags) as a useful way to reinforce Teamwork and keeping one's Teammates alive. :huh:

Anywho, pardon me now everyone while I walk off and go deal with using that Active Premium Time as best as I can. I've been trying to make use of it, but still have about 3.5 Days of it left. I'm going to seriously need a lot of cooldown time after that grinding is done too. Hmm... maybe it's time that I finally take a long & massive hiatus from MWO? :mellow:

You're lucky that you could do it for two accounts. Enjoy your achievement. I get the feeling you're probably about ready to go Competitive-Class, and move into the big leagues. :)


Personally, I had a crazy struggle just trying to do it for my only account, and I'm not capable of more than being Casual-Class myself. It felt half the time like the MatchMaker was out to bash me into the dirt, even with my trying to put my full effort into things. I can tell you that I would not be able to handle a second account with an Event like this, even if the Challenge Requirements were only 80% of what we faced this time. :(
