Even without the update, why was everyone freaking out about them not yet listing as releasing for cbills?

Every time there's a loyalty bonus session there's new variants introduced and some 6 months or so later they appear for cbills. Been that way since 2012 (the Operation Inception [founder] mech variants were originally locked away until open beta nearly ended.)

Originally when Russ was asked, it was "nope" limited release only.

After the pitchforks and torches were distributed amongst twitter and the brown sea, that was changed.

Odin's Beard! This has a smell of... desperation.

I'm guessing the preorder numbers arnt that good.

My thoughts exactly.

They lost a lot of good faith the past few years. All of mine died whith the "pay for ama participation" and the fact that they hyped up Mech Con only to tell us that the only thing they plan to bring to MWO is balances. Quite a few are skeptical on whether this game will be anything more than hype, and rightly so given the content drought and lack of solid info on MW5.

Nothing about "Free to play" means that EVERYTHING has to be 100% available to the grind.

It literally means, you don't have to spend money to play the game. If it wasn't for their constant Giveaways during events, your argument is already blown to **** by having (S), Hero and (C) variants that aren't available no matter how you grind.

I'll leave the "business model" part alone...

I agree not everything has to be free in a F2P game as long it doesn't change the balance of fairness of gameplay between paying vs non paying players. I started mwo 2 years ago so I missed the chance to get the loyalty atlas and Phoenix mechs. Luckily the difference of those mechs compared to standard are mostly cosmetics and cbill bonus upgrade. The hard points between them are still the same regardless so gameplay balance is fair. But this time there are mechs like the superior maurader that has symetrical missle hard points with ECM capability that can only be obtained by spending money preordering mw5. Players that want them in the future can't have them after the preorder date has passed. This destroys game balance until pgi agrees to release standard varients for c-bills. Heck I don't mnd if pgi only releases these mechs as heros that can only be bought with MC as long it can still be bought by players at all times.

A question to PGI:
could you please provide some information on how a MW5 preorder will contribute to the 2019 customer appreciation reward programe?
I'd expect the Marauder II code to contribute to IS loyalty reward according to its' tier and presumably the MC code might count towards the MC purchase reward.

Can we get some pre-order content for the actual game itself, instead of MW:O. A couple patterns is rather underwhelming.

It is like in preschool where one kid does something better than the other kids and gets a cookie for it, but the teacher has to give the whole class cookies, so the other kids who do not understand why hard work, or exceptional effort should be rewarded, will cry.

yea, they lost a lot of good faith and players that was from start on here and good paying customers but it´s their own fault that they left forever and said: "for sure, after all the lies i will never come back". as they showed no interest in keeping this players here and bring new players here to increase the playerbase. TONS of good outworkedsuggestions lay here in the forums under meters of dust. They had just to read the forums more and play their own game more to know what and where to do
I am also very sceptic bout MW5, what i heared till today from the AMA´s doesnt makes me hype. Has to have more then featuring video gimmicks x y z. just a better looking mw4 with coop is not enough for a game that "we all dreamed bout"^^

PGI have changed their minds and will release the mechs for c-bills in December.

I like how paying money is 'hard work, or exceptional effort' in your analogy. lol

Earning money and paying to support MW5 is harder work thank crying about someone else getting something until you are given it to shut you up.

I am not a charity organization and PGI is not a charity case; I don't spend the money I earn to 'support' a business company, I consider PGI a business partner and giving my money to PGI is therefore a mere business transaction guided by hard economic interests.

The MAD-9M is a good example: I want it, and I am willing to pay money for it (some $10 for a non-special variant). I am just not willing to preorder MW:5 to get the Mech. That is why I ask my business partner to reconsider his sales model to the benefit of both of us. I never said I wanted to get the Mech for free, much less the special variant. The current solution to release a pre-order bonus Mech later for C-bills (i.e. not really free, but close to it) is also consistent as it follows the established practice of MWO's bonus Mechs, e.g. the player reward Mechs.

Calling such a sober business interaction 'crying', comparing it to pre-school, and treating PGI like a charity case is pretty puerile.

I mean the lack of content, it's just, sad... dont dont get me started on the supposed FW rework that we've been waiting for years on now...

But this latest change is screaming; We really didn't hit the preorder numbers we were hoping for, so let's add some more digital stuff to bump the numbers up so our investors are happy.

The sad part is that they only need to add more bonuses to MW5 to bump the pre-orders. I know at least 5 people who won't go near it because they don't care about MWO, they want to see extras in MW5. I don't understand how it's this difficult for them to understand.

True, and I'm still miffed about the limited mech lab... I mean REALLY?!?!

Simply one of the reasons I didn't like mw4 over mw3.

And yet, accurate to the time period being portrayed. You're a down on your luck merc operating out of a Leopard, not a Defiance Industries company man operating out of a factory on Hesperus II. The kind of mechbay facilities needed to swap out major components like engines, armour or internal structure just aren't available to most mercenaries in a pre-4th Succession War setting, and whatever is available would be either expensive as all get out or else reserved for House units.
