No. I'd gladly play all the old maps and go back to 8 vs 8. Not as if half the 12 vs 12 maps see any use. But I know them all since I run light mechs and knowing the entire map give you significant tactical advantages over those who don't. Let's remove domination mode. Pgi removed escort so we know entire game modes can be removed. Or we can bring back hard game mode selection. I miss those check boxes of which I only had skirmish checked. No wasting time in a pee stain or mech squares just straight up go kill the enemy fun.

This was appeasement, pure and simple. PGI has nothing in the works as far as new map development goes, other than that arctic version of valley. So, to freshen things up a bit, they reintroduced the classic maps. Think of it as running around the apartment with a can of Fabreeze before your parents visit. It's an attempt to mask a stinky situation.

Would you like to buy a Mech pack?

The bottom 90% collectively have the same iq as a dead goldfish, and have no clue how to play on any map.

Like, seriously? Everyone was asking for those maps to come back, the "Feature suggestions" subforum was filled with people asking to reintroduce these maps.
I've actually joined after these maps got removed and, in my opinion, these maps offer completely different match experience from those "run to the right!" matches.

How are more map choices a bad thing? I like the old maps and I know all of them fine. I wish they'd bring back a couple more.

i like the design of the maps with one caveat, they are way too small. like i enjoy the flanking/ sniping/ and before nerf midrange LRM builds. the majority of those playstyles don't work on the new maps because they are so small. the forest colony one is actually ok, the frozen city one is a cluster-truck where if you didn't drop with a close/mid brawling build your basically deadmeat.

if you could set up 2 loadouts for a mech and pick between them after the map is chosen then it wouldn't be an issue. but taking a general loadout all the time sucs because specific loadouts work better. the problem is specific loadouts only work on certain maps.

try taking LRMs to solaris, F U i guess.
high heat builds on terra therma? ouch.
close range brawler on Polar?

those are just a few "problem" builds on certain types of maps. if you are a generalist you have to account for all of those variants. i have seen mech with redundant weapons because if they fire their full complement they overheat in one volley on tourmaline!

I love having the old maps back! Instead of getting my *** kicked after walking for 2 to 3 minutes, I can now get slaughtered in under 2.5 minutes, 3.5 tops. This is far more efficient! I eagerly await classic Terra Therma, so I can die in the PUG zapper again!

The Main issue with the classic maps, is that they were designed for 8 v 8, not 12 v 12. Hence why you end up with a soup sammich. And the best reason Why I like these classic maps, it makes running around the rosey nearly impossible. But im sure given time, someone will figure it out.

But for now, I like it. I missed the old frozen city night time.

Guessing the author of this topic was but a child when MWO came out . . . no appreciation of these fine maps that force players to use . . da, da, daaaaaah - team tactics.

Fun maps that force thought and positioning, not just overwhelming focused long range fire.

Shame on you for even suggesting these be removed; learn to play them; love them :)

Why are those maps back in the game anyway? You took them out because they were horrible, and now you added them back in for what!? At least make them optional and not force me to play through them.

Only issue I see is these should be 4v4 and 8v8.
12 is just too much in some instances.
The Big CRASH BRAWL. Kinda fun though.
Crying about walking on big current maps?

The classic maps bring a bit of a different gameplay then Nascar so please keep them. Its refreshing to have something else and as for people not knowing where to go...they will learn as with all the other maps they learned how to play them.

My experience is that the Classic Maps get not the most votes that often.

627 made a great tactical break down of the different maps a few years ago (including Frozen City) but unfortunately, the image hosting site took down all of his graphics.
