While I thought the Land Air Mechs were really OP to use in the board game due to their jumping ability, it was for the best that the Clan invasion wiped them out. Why the tanks were then introduced later is just... well... I knew at that point we had somehow moved into a different franchise again.
There are several things that should have been done with the mechs, equipment and rules that to my knowledge hasn't been.
Perhaps there is room for a new era in Battletech.

I don't care about any of that stuff right now. I want to know, not guess, why there is no new mech. Last time it was easy, we had the two 80t, they had to last for 2 months, and PGI was very straightforward about it. This cryptic "info soon" tweet and NO other hint is worrying. I don't even want to play right now, something is wrong.

More likely they'll officially announce the pre-order for non-steam platforms. Those "bonus" 'mechs will be the April mech-pack........
Mech announcements are due the first week of the month. If they've skipped April there better be a double pack in May or a good explanation as to why they've trolled us.

The only consideration on renewal in my mind would be the financial performance of MW5.
I see a list of potential futures:
If it does 'well', PGI will renew.
If it becomes a smash hit, Microsoft may make the price exceedingly expensive and/or buy PGI outright to take over the revenue stream (ala Minecraft).
If it does 'poorly' PGI may not be able to afford to renew it, then... Possibly a company with money, or someone who wins a really big lottery pot, purchases the rights, and PGI, and births a new company with a new 'Vision™'.
I'm gonna go buy a lottery ticket, just in case...

Instead, only try to realise the truth.
There is no mechpack.

Paradox buys them and smashes into Harebrained resulting in fish flavored rabbit stew.
