I'm super aggressive, that's why my Assault scores are garbage (see my Season 33 results on Jarl's).

It's all about the pilot, not the 'Mech class. There are some 'Mechs that are worse than others, but you have to be pretty good already before you can really make that call.

I've been playing 4 mechs (Jade Kite, Vanguard, Black Widow and Legend Killer) all with dakka except for the LK which has two shotguns, aiming to be at a minimum range of 400m. The problem most of the time is the team won't be conducive to this playstyle. If I keep trying to stay at 400m, I'll be totally out of position or I won't have any targets to shoot at for a long time; not to mention the NASCAR scenario. So, my stats have dropped considerably as for most of the matches that I've played, Im sure the MS wouldn't have been higher than average of what I was getting before trying these builds. The problem is definitely the mechs' loadout not being helpful for me to circumvent how the team's set up. Some matches where the team listens and forms a cohesive firing line, I'll dish out in excess of 800 damage easily. More often than not, the assaults use ME as the meat shield, which is pathetic.

What I'm getting at is that there's nothing wrong with the 60t mechs if you play to their strengths BUT you also need to have a team to do that. 'Cause QP is the main mode, which is stupid, building a mech towards team play don't reward you unless you're one of those players with a lot of experience and have been in the 90th percentile for a long time. So, if you're finding it difficult to handle the situation in such mechs, just know that they're better for another mode (FW) and not QP. So, just skill them up as best as you can and keep them in the drop deck. As for QP, if you want to have fun, try to build something that doesn't rely on the team. My previous mechs didn't need the team, even my Kraken 'cause I could go in, do massive damage, get some solo kills and KMDDs before I'd get blown up but still, my stats would be good.

If they were driving wins... Doing all these "important" things...

Why do they ALL have a WLR below 1.0?

And those with high JL stats ALL have a WLRs above 1.0?

You're not fooling anyone with that strawman argument.

Who is fooling who? I specifically said:

I posit that the only reliable measure we currently have is the "ability to win" (i.e. W/L).

With a higher winrate if what you are doing is noticeably helping your team.

Well, at least someone was paying attention.

Constructive discussion on 'mech builds may be moved to BattleMechs.[/mod]
