I would have thought that the answer to this would be in the FAQ, but I've looked over your website's public information for about 20 minutes now and can't find the answer (and this post is HUGE!).

Will the Skjaldborg be considering becoming a house unit for the FRR faction, or will it remain a merc corp, or some amalgamation thereof? The only reason I haven't applied to anything is because I'm not sure whether I'd prefer Merc or House & don't want to make a committment and irritate people I befriend if I decide to switch later.

I think this has been discussed a little bit, but there are those who are better informed to tell you about this.

I think that if we could be a merc unit that only took FRR contracts, I think that is what "The Management" would like, but if that is not possible we may need to become a house unit, at least as far as the game's mechanics is concerned.

Hopefully, someone who is more knowledgeable in management can confirm/deny/correct this.

At any point we will not be able to say anything definite until we know how the faction warfare will be implemented.

Great time at transfer orientation today. Finished unpacking and applying to the shieldwall now. Also learned that male:female ratio for the school is about 1:5 this year. Overall I'm having a rather damn good viking day.

We are planning to remain a merc corp for the fact of having more control over promotions, drop groups, organization, that sort of thing. Based on what was said in previous dev blogs Faction units will not have the same level of control that Merc units will have. We do plan on fighting for the FRR as much as possible, or at the very least taking contracts for other factions that will help benefit the FRR and definitely no contracts against it.
