Is nascaring still an issue for people?

I rarely see assaults get caught out due to nascar, unless there are barriers that prevent people from grouping up effectively like on canyon network, sometimes people decide to run the trenches, people typically converge on the assault lance, with the exception of light mechs, they go wherever, everyone tend to stick together.

There are times where assault lances spawn on the far right aswell.

MWO - Where no one is surprised to see 100 tonners not top 100 damage and 20 tonners are expected to pump out well over 500 damage a game.

And lights get weekly nerfs for posting that 500 dmg game or an ace of spades in a lct-1e while the same screen shot shows charlie lance not even breaking 300 dmg. Light mechs op indeed since the 20 tonners replaced the 35 tonners after RE-scale nerf. I use to have a screen shot of an assault doing just one(1) point of damage but the hard drive it was saved on died. It might be on my imgur account though.

if they composed lances more traditionally to the lore, we'd have 1/2 assaults per lance with 2/3 lighter mechs, and perhaps if people worked as a team, this whole problem can be averted. But alas, we have all the assaults spawning together and a bunch of people that can't accept the concept of taking orders or teamplay.

As many have said, I get very tired of the complaint, don't leave the Assaults behind! or Don't Nasscar! As others have said, if you are a light or fast medium, your job is to move fast and flank. The slower mechs should stop trying to follow the flankers and do their job.

The rescale is a buff for 20 tonners. They are half as tall as they should be for their relative tonnage.

And what killed all the 35 tonners except a lucky few such as Raven 3Ls as those still get used because of jesusbox most commonly running 2x er lls.

If the problem is that you are too slow, either modify your existing slow build to incorporate a larger engine or use faster and more agile 'Mechs.

Try the BattleMaster, the Zeus, the Charger or the Cyclops, if you like Inner Sphere 'Mechs.

As a rule of thumb, your speed should be at least 60 km/h, preferably more.

QP is an inherently selfish game mode. The only person you can depend on is yourself. Good positioning and game sense will help you avoid getting left behind 9 out of 10 times unless your build has a seriously deficient engine (like 40kph).

NASCAR and bad teams aren't going anywhere so your only choice is to adapt or play FW.

What Cyclops runs 60? 50kph is fine for a Cyclops in QP. Plus the Anni is perfectly viable. Decent speed can kind of help, but it is far inferior to positioning and moving correctly to avoid being left behind in the first place.

Good point, big engine makes sense there. Otherwise though dropping into the 50s is no big deal. Like my Sleipnirs go around 50kph and still wreck everything in front of em.

Any Cyclops with 335 engine or bigger.

Yeah, sure. Unless you are on a larger map and your team is in faster 'Mechs mashing frantically their "W" keys and moving forward.

Since the previous poster did not describe his 'Mech, it is impossible to say how fast - or slow - his Stalker moves. I have seen some very slow Stalkers in QP. Thus my advice that perhaps equipping a larger engine could be in order.

My Sleipnirs perform extremely consistently. They may not do quite as well on average when my team is particularly focused on hitting as many laps as possible, but you can say that of just about all assaults actually. Going 60kph isn't going to change nearly as much as positioning and game sense. And honestly, the only maps that my Sleipnirs aren't fairly well suited for are Polar and Alpine, and that's down to their loadouts, not their speed. Tourm is big, it's fine. Canyon/hibernal/hpg/mining are all turbo Nascar maps, and they're pretty damn good for those mechs.

Sure, some people build lrm boats that go like 32kph and then complain about their team being too fast. That's an edge case and it doesn't justify prescribing that all assaults go 60+. That's overkill really and prevents some very strong loadouts.

Since the previous poster only said that he is usually left behind by his team, it is really difficult to say anything else than "perhaps your 'Mech is slow". When he posts more info, we will know better what the problem is.

Shouldn't this kinda of every man for himself in QP push more players into LFG with like-minded people who will coordinate? And after so many stomps these special little flowers who don't like taking orders will realize they can't solo win the match in their Bloodasp alone.

EDIT: Nevermind I found out group que has been poorly implemented.....wow.

You can totally solo win the match in your Blood Asp, you just have to be really good.

Many, many most groups play like its every man for them selves, they get owned by groups that play like a group.
And then they don't want to play group que no more
Vicious cycle.

there was a youtube video on how to be an assault mech escort

this was way back and a role I would preform
now if I hang back it would just result in 2 dead Mechs lol

its a big problem with no easy solution (I am thinking if the problem was easy to solve PGI would have solved it 5 years ago)

I am sure there is a solution
