A few of my special builds did really good. Most....? Not so much.

The rockets and gauss. I was never very good with gauss do to that charge up time and the rockets just seemed to take forever. The PPC one surprised me and didn't take that long. Though I still am not a fan of them.

It's pretty hard work getting it done when you're trying to do it in the free Corsair....

Looking at the Broadside the only issue I can see is doing the RL20 portion of the event because it only has one spot where a RL20 will fit, but you can use a lighter mech with more missile hardpoints for that portion of the challenge.
Just spitballing, something like this build should wreck things up close and check off the AC20, LB10X, SRM6, and Medium Laser challenges, then maybe this one to knock out UAC5s and LPLs. MRM40 with RAC2s work very well, and with the tonnage we can do this to add the Light PPC requirement into the mix (though I'd use the triple LPPCs just for distance targets or snap shots and only the MRM40s and RAC2s inside 400m so it doesn't run as hot).
Dual Gauss is a no-brainer but this build adds in streaks and ERSLs for pestering lights and to complete that portion of the event. It's about pairing complimentary weapons together rather than just fitting in one of everything. I think the only thing left aside from RL20 is ERPPC and LRMs. This build isn't great, but it has dual AMS for your team and if you can drop it in Polar Highlands it'll have the distance and open spaces to do its work.

Sadly, it's caring.
I'm just not motivated by event rewards anymore and I'm not interested in rebuilding mechs with random weapons just to get some rewards I don't need. This isn't a complaint though, just a reflection on how I've changed (former event completionist here).
