by heavy fog i assume you mean below 50ft visibility.
regardless IFF makes technical sense. Could also be imaging software loaded that has your current lancemates mechs loaded into it linked to your IFF

The Sim aspect has to give way to Action features at some level to provide a fun combat game within the 20 minutes of a match. It *is* a match game with set objectives so some way to assessing that data needs to be present. The devs will figure that out as they play test and balance the game.
Yeah I dont want to hear MAH MAH MONSTER KILL!! either. But seeing "Pilot X has destroyed Pilot Y" would be fine and mimic what integrated data systems would tell you anyway. Maybe those notices should be presented as part of the data systems in the Mechs (information warfare systems) and not in open chat window.
If they simply make kill notices a server option, people will just leave it on and the OPs wishes are moot.

Think in Gears of war, when you reload, your character sometimes shouts that they are reloading.
When you down or cripple a mech, unless you have a mic plugged in, your character should shout important information over the communications net.

If it is a server OPTION, people could as well turn it off, you know?
I'd wager a lot of servers would after some time have it turned off, because it would be considered as "nOObish" to need kill notices, or at least as just a cheap way to try to wave ye olde E-Peen around. I think a rather nifty solution would be to charge real money for those kill notices. Who thinks that he needs it, would be free to pay for them. and the rest won't be bothered.

Of course wearing enemy colors could backfire pretty badly too, in the event that friendly fire is active.

On a similar yet different note: "XMechJock threw himself in the path of Brakkyn's autocannon round. Messy!"

I would not want the "g-g-g-godlike!" of league of legends on multiple kills or any information like that while in game as it isn't needed.

I disagree my friend. If an option conveys an advantage (i.e. NHUA, no fog, day time, etc..) then it will be left on because most players are not purists who want the game conditions to be tough. They want the game conditions to be easy so they can ramp up their frags. While sim lovers and BT purists might want to play in exotic and difficult environments, the max-frag casual players dont want "difficult". They want the game boiled down to its absolute lamest level.. with kill notices on like every other shooter out there. It will happen.
Again, if they have kill notices I hope they make it part of the mech's integrated information system and not a chat window..

I agree in part, but these "max-frag casual players" (like that expression of yours ) will move on to the next FOTM game after a month or two and thus are probably not a real big concern for PGI. Because all they would provide is a minor cash influx for a very limited period (if any). And then they'll be gone.
Accordingly I still have hopes PGI just won't cater to those lamers with any automatic in-match messaging. What happens after the match is finished I could care less about. Don't see PGI dumbing down the game that much yet, noone there indicated they wanted to target a main player base of 10-year-olds. Thus the "absolute lamest level" might not show up, as it would drive off a lot of the longtime comitting potential customers. Or at the very least prevent them from investing cash into the game.

regardless of respawn values of this game
score boards often contain information about who is dead or not
that alone is a game changer
i do NOT belive it should be an option
i am so sick of everything being an option
we only need one way to play this game
