I don't care who covers it next. Random professional youtuber ranter opinions don't particularly matter to me.

correct. you should be disgusted on your own by PGI's actions. no youtuber needed for that but quite often, the "i dont care" mentality of too many humans is such a big factor nowadays when we should care about such things alot more.
we rant and moan about the business and how stuff is done nowadays but its us that allowed it to happen.
thats sickening.

to this day i barely use steam or anything like it because it was not good for the gaming world for a long time.
thank god i could enjoy warcraft 3 FT for so damn long without such ****** stuff.

For me its rather simple, I ordered a steam version as I love steam achievements, silly I know, but hey its what I like. Epic store doesn't have it, and unless they can confirm that it will be available before the launch then I have logged my refund.
Always called my mates "bitching betas" for complaining about all that was promised and never deliver, I stand corrected, seems it is par for the course where Russ is involved.
I am one of those willing to wait a year, so hope they will seriously consider it, but knowing shoot from the hip Russ I won't hold my breath.

PGI, you guys need to send emails out to pre-order accounts ASAP regarding the EGS-exclusivity announcement and refund offer. Not everybody checks your websites regularly and you are only providing a one month window for refund claims. This could come back to haunt you if you don't actively push this notice out.

You paid for a modern Ford truck. You were instead sent a severely beaten up WWII Jeep. Is your complaint a silly temper tantrum? ******* NOT.

Nice false analogy.

they wont, hell, they tried to hide the epic exclusivity until its too late to refund.
that should be reason to bring them to court already

Looks like the Mods are deleting posts, as you can watch the count shrink. Since this has officially gained PGI's attention, I would like to see a response other than hiding evidence of the community's legitimate anger.

How about a mass email to all people with pre-orders detailing the changes and their options (refund or deal with Epic). And then send some timely responses to those who request a refund. At this point radio silence and post sniping is Not going to calm the situation.

Russ has always lied to us, why is the latest at all surprising... to anyone who's been here more than a few months. But that same guy who lies to us is also the only guy to have brought mechwarrior back to being an active game. You takes the good with the bad. If you pre-ordered MW5 without expecting more lies from Russ, you are incredibly naive.

I think this time it matters more because previous times were matters of gameplay, and could be explained/excused by PGI's incompetence and lack of creativity.
Now, with premeditated deceit on financial matter, it leaves no room for interpretations. This is why some people may decide that enough is enough.

Also it could simply be a matter of accumulation. You can piss in a pot only for so long before it pours out.

But one thing i agree with, you take the good with the bad. But limits and red lines of this differ from person to person.

Getting dragged to court is exactly what may happen when pre-orders attempt to join the demo or even the release and then run face-first into this EGS issue with no prior knowledge due to PGI not contacting them about it and having already closed their actionable window.

I'm enjoying reading salty tears from all the folks who are "i'm uninstalling mwo" as the essential gist of their rant, and you look them up on jarl's and either they're potatoes who shouldn't be playing at all as it was (as they're likely driving away more people from the game by just taking up space in matches than anything PGI is doing), or they're potatoes who barely played at all as it was. Because their comment and opinion apparently matters when they're ranked in the 30-60% range, or they've played a mighty 500 matches in 3 years...

And i bet you have as many MW5 Matches as anyone else and suck equaly… ;P

Refund requested.

MWO uninstalled.

Consumer lost. Posted Image

Actually simply another potato lost. There's no evidence you even bought MW5 to begin with. There's plenty of evidence you barely ever played MWO though, so the uninstall claim is meaningless and carries no weight.

I honestly do not understand why the offer is not on the table as with Metro. That steam key for preorders are honored. I wonder that there arent any canadian lawyers willing to take this one up.. hell there must be ONE who got annoyed by this as much as I am.

This was answered already. Valve changed their rules after the metro fiasco and that option isn't available. Basically they threw a corporate tantrum and decided that any other game companies that decided to go epic exclusive wouldn't be distributed thru steam at all until the exclusive period ended, even if pre-orders had been sold on the basis of steam keys and any such offer of steam keys would not be honoured.

Following the chaos of the past few days, I've tried to visualize key MW5 events in a timeline, primarily focusing on promised release dates as well as the whole Steam key / Epic exclusivity controversy.

That's why other events (e.g. AMAs about UI or level generation) are not included.

Feel free to send me items to add to the timeline.

Because its somehow worse than giving it to the russians ??? Which you've already done if you've ever bought a mech pack or MC through pgi's webstore... or for that matter...already when you pre-ordered MW5.

I went through and broke it down after Kell Aset sent me the SidAlpha video. Please keep in mind it was like 2-3am and i had been up all day so i do misspeak some numbers a little but the numbers on the sheet are correct. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/459247706

Russ said he wanted to do 10 million units sold at $49.95:
What Russ wants
$499,900,000‬ from 10 million units sold
$59,988,000 - Epic's 12% cut
$174,965,000 - Steam's 35% cut

1mil units sold = $49,990,000‬
$5,998,800‬ - Epic's 12% cut
$17,496,500‬ - Steam's 35% cut

Keep in mind that World War Z did 700k units sold and Satisfactory did 500k units sold in the first few months so 1 million units sold is not so far fetched.
This was a funny section where i found MW5 on the epic store:

This is a moronic take on Valve's change, which they did to prevent abuse of the system, which is exactly what Metro did by using Steam to advertise and sell pre-orders and then try to skip out on your end of the bargain by not delivering through it. The solution to let the Steam pre-orders have their game on release was not something THQ Nordic wanted to do but were obligated to avoid a lawsuit. Steam changed the policy to protect their reputation and the consumer.

Dee, no one gives a damn about stats on the Jarl's list in a free to play game with a population barely above 600. Most of the people on the top of that list have over 5k games and way too much free time on their hands, unlike most normal functioning members of society. Most normal people, I guess you'd call us casuals, don't have the free time to sit in front of a PC for 8 hours or more a day and hone our skills like we did in high school.

I've decided that I'm not going to pull the trigger on a refund. Not because I want to reward poor business practices, but because I have not yet seen an email to the account under which I made my pre-order, and this way I will have grounds to file a complaint with the FTC when the game doesn't arrive on time.
