Yeah, anyone who's been following the video game hobby for a long time knows that threats of moral boycotts are rarely carried through by hedonistic gamers, who largely lack any of the courage or conviction necessary to actually make self-sacrifices in the name of their principles. I remember reading all the outrage on forums over Modern Warfare 2 lacking dedicated servers - but then the next week gamers went out and bought it by the boatload regardless. Way to show the corps who's boss...
So I can't take armchair moral keyboard crusaders seriously any more. They say one thing then do the opposite. This is as true for gamers as it is for girls on social media saying they're against animal testing one moment and then swooning over cosmetics the next.
On the flip side, Borderlands 3 is the least monetized AAA game I have seen in a while, even though many of its systems just scream for microtransactions
Hell it's fun to grind loot or lvls
Ehh
It feels like a lifetime the last MW came out, and personally I never wanted a PvP MW
Not going to deny myself this, hopefully, easily moddable MW just because Tencent bought Epic shares,
You don't see gamers boycotting NVidia just because Tencent has fingers n there too

No, it doesn't. How does one get onto the MW5 AMA Discord, with "this cord"..... ahem.....
Through all the AMA's there was very little information of actual interest
Probably also because you get to watch more MWO in the background

Stellar success? BL3 sold only 500.000 units more than Mafia 3 in 2016. Thats a bit disappointing when you think of the huge marketing campaign, the millions of Borderland fans waiting for the 3rd part and the cross over event with Fortnite...
Not doing that bad considering all the boycotts
Btw, those Epic sales are way better since the store tax is lower, especially since 2k also uses UE4, so no royalties either

Borderlands 3 crosses 5 million copies sold in its first five days
And to top this off, there are way more looter shooters these days to compete with BL then in the past
Ehh Mafia, way to go to pull something rather unrelated out of the hat (Borderlands≠Mafia) , why not use GTA Online sale figures?
