Faction Play Improvements

Faction Hero Rewards for Loyalist Players:

  • Loyalist players now have access to a new Faction Hero track that starts after Rank 20. This new track is a series of Loyalty Point milestones that unlock rewards as the player reaches them.
  • While Hero track is separated into each Faction LP path, the way they operate is identical with identical rewards.
  • Upon completing the track the first time, Loyalist players unlock a Faction Hero title and badge.
  • The Faction Hero track will loop indefinitely as LP continues to accumulate.
  • If the Loyalist player breaks loyalty with a faction, they lose the Faction Hero title and badge. In addition, the Hero Track LP earned is removed and Faction LP is set back to Rank 20.

Faction Play End of Round Rewards:

  • The default C-Bills payout for winning a non-Scouting Faction Play match has increased to 300,000 CB.
  • The default C-Bills payout for winning a Scouting Faction Play match has increased to 30,000 CB.
  • The default Loyalty Points payout for winning a non-Scouting Faction Play match has increased to 50 LP.
  • The default Loyalty Points payout for winning a Scouting Faction Play match has increased to 10 LP.
  • The default Loyalty Points payout for losing a non-Scouting Faction Play match has increased to 25 LP.
  • The default Loyalty Points payout for losing a Scouting Faction Play match has increased to 5 LP.

Faction Play Leaderboards:

  • Loyalist and Mercenary Unit leaderboards have been brought back.
  • Mercenary Pilot leaderboard has been removed.
  • Some leaderboard columns (such as those related to contracts and unit-wide loyalty) have been removed.

End of Competitive Play Season

All rosters and leaderboards will be locked after Saturday, October 19th and the Comp Play tab will become inaccessible on patch day. Those wishing to view the leaderboard data can do so on the website (2019 Comp Play leaderboard Archives here). Stay tuned for a follow up announcement summarizing the comp play rankings and the next steps to the community run championship tournament.

  • Fixed a bug where save/load system buttons don't respond after loading a 'Mech build.

Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.
Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.
This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): To be provided on patch day

How to use these patch files
• Download the above file(s)
• For sake of ease we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
• You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
• Launch the MWO Portal
• Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
• Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
• In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
• For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
• Click the blue Patch button
• The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch.
• Once the patch is complete, launch the game

Each time they touched something this year they make it horribly worse, 2019 has been a very bad year for patches, with the only exceptions being when they rollbacked some of their changes to make things better.

Wish they'd rollback the changes back to 2018, there was a whole lot less bugs back then (heat bug, cancel launch bug, MWO crashes, the save/load system they just fixed back...).

For the past few months they've finally stopped breaking things (except for making quad-AMS C-bills assaults exclusive to IS, which broke the AMS balance), so don't go poking the bear.

Wow, good progress on the bug fixes.

Maybe in a patch next year you can address the server select bug. That would be two tiny bugs in less than 2 years!

Un-nerf every weapon system and give every map an equal chance of showing up, hell, even bring back escort. Every time I try to play MWO again, each match just seems to be the same boring nascar then inevitable crush as one team does a sweeping brawl over the other. Its just lasers and one sided brawls now....

Every map has an equal chance of showing up. Thank goodness we can pick from 4 of them because the days of no choice maps and getting terra therma and caustic so often was not good. However I've said for years they need to give us 3 choices for modes, the days of MWO only having 2 modes is long over so we need more mode choices now.

As for getting one sided matches, that's the match maker and there's a whole pile of posts here, on steam, and all over the net about how broken it is. Fix the match maker to actually work based on skill and its possible mwo might get a resurgence, can't see Russ actually bothering with having big changes made in MWO ever again.

Well to be fair, the one time PGI did try to town down lasers everyone started whining and cancelling their mech pack orders until PGI backed down...

So they're not going to start doing it in the middle of the MW5 release :)

Those laser changes were ridiculous, and what we got instead was the heat-scale changes which were a net buff to Lerms and other DPS oriented weapon systems.

As if the quad AMS piranha hadn't already broken it in favour of the clans. The clans also had two other omni-mechs capable of triple AMS installations already. Until the quad AMS Corsair, the most any IS mech could carry was two AMS units.

How do you recognize a 2019 LRM hater ? He keeps calling the 2019 LRM "balance" patch a buff.

How do you recognize a 2019 LRM user ? He's nerfed.

Still my favorite game.

How do you recognise a 2019 LRM potato; Using ATMs from 900 meters like they're ER-LRMs.

Lol sorry. You're completely wrong on all accounts. Lurms recieved a net buff. If you'd stop hiding in spawn or going to the corner of the map to shoot walls and buildings you'd see gains. The DPS is redonk. ATMs are especially redonk right now.

Last time I saw a guy using a PIR-A my team called him a troll, I agree...

I started using ATMs as ER-LRMs this month because the average sniper is at least 200m out of maximum boosted LRM range, and that's true even when you're standing 100m in front of your team. Maybe shave another 100m from LRM range so snipers can stand over 300m out of maximum boosted LRM range instead.

Basically the snipers are standing so far back from the front line, that the only thing they can't shoot with instant pinpoint precision using a no brainer high DPI mouse setting, is each other : Well aint that convenient.

lawl, you out damage "snipers" at that range.

You'd get better mileage if you'd group up with the team instead of purposely isolating yourself. Or if you didn't just bring lrms everywhere; especially on maps where they're bad.

You don't out damage snipers at that range because they're over 200m out of your maximum range and anything that peeks on either side gets sniped... except snipers.

lol, you literally don't know what you're talking about hahaha.

You are literally too dumb to read a long sentence, which is why you keep laughing like the village idiot all the time, while proving unable to read or quote more then half a sentence.

If that's how you read a sentence, by forgetting the beginning of it before you've reach the end, then it's no wonder you brain is unable to comprehend a single full sentence I throw at you...

I'll dumb down my sentence you can't read into one more compatible with your limited brain capacities : "By standing so far away from the front line, the only thing snipers can't shoot, is each other".

I can't even report you for trolling because you're not : Darwin left you behind.

You are literally too dumb to know what I'm talking about.

lol, you have boats that lrm to 1000 or just above. No one competent is taking 1400 meter ER large shots; they do like no damage.

You are literally too dumb to read a long sentence,

You literally don't know that MOST of the top players in this game play at low DPI.

Quote

You are literally too dumb to know what I'm talking about.

You literally can't leverage the buffs lrms received. It doesn't surprise me in the least that you don't know what I am talking about.

I'll summarize;

Nothing you posted in this thread has been correct.

That's why it needs to be done now... there's no MechPack to cancel.

Besides, people always say they'll cancel, rarely do they follow through. If they didn't cancel when things moved to EPIC they won't cancel over this.
