You literally don't know what makes a game capable of being an e-sport.

Sigh!

That list is what hinders the "more war" part from happening.
Are wars fought by even teams selected by a matchmaker using PSR and Elo?

I'm very illiterate when it comes to BT lore and TT values. So, I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you mean the c-XL engines not being powered-up coffins like IS-XL and things like that?
Side note:- Maybe PGI should remove the restrictions on IS and Clan weapons so that any mech can use them, like the Roguetech mod. I'd love to use IS UAC20 or HGR on Clan mechs and try C-DHS and C-Endo on IS mechs.
Well.... technically all fusion engines are rendered useless (they auto-scram to shutdown, don't go exploding like some of the games would suggest) upon receiving 3 critical hits to their shielding. Standard, Light fusion, XL, XXL, same result happens. The thing is... NO WHERE in this game does PGI apply the engine critical hits rule anywhere except with side torso destruction and for that matter they completely ignore critical hits to all other major components of the mech such as sensors, life support, the gyro, the actuators... all of which will make a player's day bad in Battletech. Its entire possible in BT for an engine to take 3 critical hits just from CT damage without any being applied to the side torso locations of an non-standard engine. But again...that never happens in this game.

In BattleTech they were, among other formations of course!
For that matter in real wars it happened often in the past and still does today. In WW2 the smallest tactical "unit" size for US army ground forces was a platoon... which for tanks was five of them...thus if there is a report of 1 enemy tank... the correct number to send is ONE platoon of your own tanks. They didn't send five because they needed all of them to kill that one enemy tank... they sent five because that was the smallest unit size in doctrine.

Because that would be absolute cancer.
Could you imagine randomly dying with open structure because lolololololololololololol invisible dice? Eff that.
Even HBSBT ignores a lot of this.

nah, dice rolls are bad and should be avoided if it is at all possible. but there is still room for getting your sensors shot out or getting more screen shake because your gyros took a hit. stuck actuators could get annoying fast though though there are hard core simmers out there who would enjoy the feature.

Getting rid of the increasing number of cheaters (nothing like being target locked on far side of polar highlands right at drop!)
Passing MWO on to a Developer who actually cares for its client base . . .
Not much to ask for really.

The problem isn't/wasn't the lore mechanics... It is/was the ham-fisted efforts to take an IP that has obvious and intended balance issues and create a level playing field where one doesn't exist.
Lore brought a bunch of us in, and many left when it became obvious it was not PGIs focus. But how much does it matter now? Once repair was removed as a mechanic this game became an arcade shooter. Each subsequent patch made it more and more so. Do not think anyone still considers this a Battletech game.
Even if PGI did stay true to the source material we have to admit that the mechanics from tabletop are dated even by today's technology.
Now that PGI is no longer updating what would bring me back? Boredom.

Assuming that once MW5 launches, PGI re-allocates development resources back to MWO... what could they do to get you to play again?
Pgi's passion.
They had a lot of passion and by 2013/2014 they lost it
Be ack then they kept adding things and trying things. Now lifting their finger to change a digital value is a chore.
