Catapult look nice but there much more retrofit mech outperforming the age-old Catapult pity it set on 3048 timeline so Catapult is the only hardline missile-based mech around this time.

Really?
Archer
Bombardier
Trebuchet
Whitworth
Dervish
Valkyrie
LongBow
Crusader
-Just off the top of my head.

One of the things I worry about if running active radar vs passive has little to no difference. Scouts just become practice targets that can only report that they're about to be destroyed enemy sighted.

To help the scouts it would be rather spiff to have a fire grid for firing without lock. Scout calling in fire to a grid square with a chance for a hit without providing himself as an active target. Would be similar to naval fire requiring called in adjustments or the scout going active and painting the target.

A catapult could lob from cover just by knowing his munitions and a set location to shoot to. Also something I'll be working on even if there is no grid to work with. It's just a good monkey wrench to toss into an opponents plans some times.

There was support for the new ’Mech, however, from Sianese visitors who stated: “It is foolish to build all ’Mechs for all situations. If you build something that is unspecialised, it will be mediocre at all things.” A delegate from Luthien gave similar praise: “With so focussed a tool, a man could do great things. There is an elegance to its usage. I foresee a bright future for this machine.

Very true. That's why the Atlas is so famous for it's brawling capabilities. And besides, the Dragon is a decent mech to pair with this one, if speed is a concern anyway. Can you imagine what would happen if the devs came up with the Awesome? That mech combined with the CPLT-C1 would be the epitome of long range fire support. I highly doubt that anyone can refute this fact.

Why, because they can shoot you up six ways from Sunday and still get away? Or because you got pwned by one with a cat driver that knew what he was doing? Or is it because they don't have ZOMGSPEED or OMFGLAZARZ!!!

Of course it's a camper. That's what fire support is!

Awesome thanks for the PIc / Post.

I'm curious if anyone has heard what the total chasis model count will be at launch? I used to run the pod's and while fun it was annoying as hell to only be able to choose from a few viable ones. I'm really hoping to see a more diverse collection of chasis's (given the number that have been produced per cannon via the tech readouts prior to 3049 i know this can be a daunting task) but was curious to hear if there had been any leaks / updates on the count yet?

Can this mech exceed the 64.8 km/h ground speed using the jump jets? If it can't, they seem pretty pointless unless MWO has more impassable obstacles than MW4.

I love the catapult. With the current list of mechs it's the one I think I'll be most likely to play. Any merc teams looking for LRM support guy? x3

Man, screw that visitor from Tharkad. Catapults are a deadly force even in close range. You can't tell me four medium lasers and a damn good pilot aren't going to at LEAST fend off a lance of commandos. The Jump Jets are an excellent asset to put distance fairly quickly between you and your opponent.

Nice design guys. I LOVE that it still has some bulk to it instead of having the twig legs that a lot of concepts have. Catapult is my favorite 'mech, so it pleases me to see it so pretty :(
