Greetings Mercenaries!

v1 of the MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Mod Editor is now available for download through your Epic Launcher! To access the MW5 Mod Editor your Epic account must already own MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. We strongly recommend installing the MW5 Mod Editor onto an SSD drive! (for faster load times)

In this initial release of the Mod Editor, you will be able to dig in and get started on planning and creating your MW5 Mods. Please note that support for packaging your Mods and integrating them into the game will be coming in a future update.

Use of the MW5 Mod Editor is subject to your agreement to the Mod Editor End User License Agreement.

To help get you started in your modding journey we've written up a basic guide for the v1 Mod Editor, which you can download here: Mod Editor Guide.

In addition to the above guide, there's a wealth of information and a huge community of UE4 developers out there to explore. Here are just some of the great resources available to get you started:

We will be continuing to work on and expand the MW5 Mod Editor - including support for packaging and installing Mods - in future updates. Until then, we hope you'll enjoy this initial release of the MW5 Mod Editor!

Also, Please Note the install size is 67 GB

Effects the speed at which you can load the editor and it's assets.

what a trash fire MW5 has been, I can't believe I thought PGI would actually be able to deliver on this

Great news, glad to hear the editor is out...but shouldn't this be posted on the MW5 forums? I was hoping for some MWO news...like PGI's future plans for MWO that we have been "standing by" to hear about since after the launch party for MW5 (which was awesome by the way) or when the MWO tournament rewards will be injected into our accounts. Any chance we could have some MWO related news/updates?

Oof, going to need a bigger SSD, uninstalling to do MW5 updates is one thing but this is another.

I wonder... maybe Epic doesn't have DLC support and the editor has to include all of the game's data with it?

Would be consistent with their platform's quality...

PGI, if you're listening... please give MWO some love. I absolutely adore this game, and hope to keep playing it for a lot longer... it just needs.... SOMETHING. Even if you don't do any new mechs, or revamp Faction Warfare/Solaris... at least give us some new maps or modes for Quickplay. Hell, let the community do it for you! Give us a way to develop content, similar to the Editor for MW5, and then playtest what users submit before going live with them. I guarantee a lot of players will come back to this game once it has some life breathed back into it.

Failing all of that, at least consider letting groups of 2 or 3 join the solo queue. I think that's been the most requested feature I've seen on the forums.

I love this game... please don't let it die ;(
