Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.
Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.
This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): To be provided on patch day

How to use these patch files
• Download the above file(s)
• For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
• You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
• Launch the MWO Portal
• Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
• Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
• In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
• For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
• Click the blue Patch button
• The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch.
• Once the patch is complete, launch the game

Some nice changes. I particularly look forward to favorite decals and colors. Sometimes, it's the small things that are nice to get.

I wonder what are / who submitted builds for the Trial mechs this time?

The last round were... Questionable, at best.

What heat bug?

Surely you don't mean the one that has been around since 2017, the one that gave us a balance pass for a heat-spike due to side torso loss... That didn't fix anything.

And of late (last 6 months) has become worse and worse again...

Surely it's not that bug...

Cool. I like the 'favorites' for decals. Takes a lot time to look for my main ones at times, haha.

Jeez, just hope the patch is better than the grammar;
  • Players should be able to select a specific faction rank as your title as long as that rank has been earned and is the player's active faction alignment.
  • 'Faction Team' Chat is now available for Mercenaries and Freelancers based on selected the selected side during a conflict.
Then again, perhaps this is a clear indication of the thought put into MWO now?

Not that this matters, but new players coming to the game and seeing lack of support from the devs doesn't make us want to invest into a game when other F2P games with real studios like DE actually listen to their community. After reading the forums for a few weeks there is some great input from community members and players that would elevate this game to a whole new level. Seeing PGI constantly ignore the feedback and suggestions even when it would require minimal effort is really sad... These patch notes are a joke with all the issues that currently exist in game. Heat Bug? Gunna keep ignoring that one? Apparently since 2017? How about balancing mechs to rework the meta? Group Queue? SBMM in FP? New Maps????

Is there any chance that the Solaris Warhorn will be different, this time? If you're just gonna reuse the old ones, I really really liked the first one. :) You've used Season 4's warhorn three times, now...

can we drop the Solaris 7 sub name already? which is a glorified duel (in an old group drop) button (that uses UI improvements that should be game wide) and adds very few to the game? Whatever is the big thing with MWO its not solaris, move on.

You do realise when they say decrease double-click speed they mean the amount of time you have to double click...

Well, at least its more than just cosmetics. Oh, wait...

Things that bother me on a personal lvl and might differ from others:

- No group quickplay beside 12 vs 12

- Occasional heat bug (seems to be a faction play issue)

- Screwed up leaderboards in faction play (all of them)

- Lack of new content to keep ppl interested in playing this. Events dont make up for that pgi.

- A revamp of your transaction, payment, ingame shop, over all system. Let ppl buy all mechs a la carte with ingame mc or real money. Rework or get rid of bundles. Give a little bonus if someone passes a certain amount of real money in a single transaction. (e.g. more than 50 Dollars in one transaction- add some premium time or cbills). I mean, there are still the Mastery Packs for mc, which beside one or two are obsolet for new players after you introduced the skill tree system (which I personally think is way better than the old mastery and moduls system.)

- Put out more life signs and try to find partners for synergy effects. Not only for MWO, also MW5 needs more attention to keep you and the franchise alive. I barely see adds for it online. No cross promo with hardware retailers. And so on.

- You are the ones with the richest and oldest western big stompy robots francise, and ppl love big stompy robots. Just maybe ask the community for suggestions, compare and reconsider them and pick the ones that are doable within your budget.

- Do stuff like contests to involve the community into the development by creating community events for new map ideas, game modes, story events, new ingame content, cosmetic or other ingame improvements...

This game would be dead long time if there wasnt a solid and loyal base community. And believe me, the average player age of this community is the sweet spot for making money, cause we have the money but not the time to grind everything. But at the moment there is no incentiv, motivation and need to give you the moneyz. Make us giving it to you again.
