Looking for current info, what is the penalty for changing loyalty and also what would be the cost to return?

so in theory I could drag my butt to every faction and return to this one with a few mech bays.. ok thanks.

There is no penalty but I do not remember if they had also removed the need to play 10 games to initiate the ability to earn Loyalty points for each house/clan. With that said, you would earn a different percentage of Loyalty points, dependent on which factions are fighting during the current conflict. See patch notes below.

As far as I know, no penalty for switching factions, no 10 probation matches.

Only if you are above rank 20, and you are playing for the hero-ranks, and then you switch, you would lose the points above rank 20.
