Yes, it was the Yen-Lo-Wang Hero Mech.

That thing was kind of a beast back then. Carry an AC/20 AND XL-Engine on a mech? that was some special stuff.

Don't think it was until the Blackjack and Jagermech that such a thing became more common. Normally you'd have to resort to a slow and heavy STD-Engine to fit an AC/20 due to many mechs having lower-arm and hand actuators in their arms.

And that mech was a Slap to the Face for every Founder.

Sheesh I miss Predator vision, they should really bring that back.

That was our question also.
May we ask additional questions (since new around here):

1. In what year was the Yen-Lo-Wang Hero Mech released?

2. Was Champion Mechs released years before the first (Yen-Lo-Wang) Hero Mech was released?

Thank you in advance!

The thing is, the CN9-AH could do the AC/20 before the YLW, IIRC. PGI removed the AH from the game basically so they could then re-sell the AC/20+XL capability back to us as the YLW. Years later, they returned the AH back to the roster as one of the first Loyalty 'Mechs.

Kinda sleazy.

Welp it was what about 3-6 months into release if not earlier so 2013 maybe? And no champion mechs were not around yet.

1. October 2012
2. No Champion Mechs - there were only Founder Mechs:
Atlas AS7-D
Catapult CPLT-C1
Hunchback HBK-4G
Jenner JR7-D

Look at this early History of MWO - it contains some data like release dates:

I remember they removed the AH which meant you could no longer level up your Centurions unless you bought the Yen-Lo-Wang. That persisted for a few years until they reintroduced the AH for cbills and now the skill tree doesn't require 3 variants of chassis to unlock skills (Thank God).

I've enjoyed it with an UAC20, a pair of ERML in the torso, and as large as possible LFE. The new tech really made that 'mech alive for me.
