Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.
Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.
This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_381.zip

How to use these patch files
• Download the above file(s)
• For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
• You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
• Launch the MWO Portal
• Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
• Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
• In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
• For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
• Click the blue Patch button
• The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch.
• Once the patch is complete, launch the game

Hey Matt should we be able to access - FrontendPatch_380.zip

Although at second glance I guess it doesn't matter since the newest modified file date in it is 9/17/2020.

Thought there might be a better sale on mech packs for the weekend just before the Annual Rewards cut off.
Looks like I miscalculated that one, ah well no worries the jokes on me. :D

They will get to work on MWO AFTER the Steam release of MW5 and it's dlc at December 10th. So nothing will be adressed before that date.

Not trying to defend MWO:

1. MW5 preorders gave you exclusive Special variants of mechs, not available by another means: this is still true as of today.
(ie: MWO did not renege):
~Catapult CPLT-C2(S)
~Warhammer WHM-9D(S)
~Marauder MAD-9M(S)
~King Crab KGC-001(S)

2. I for one would be willing to pay dear $$ for above four Special variants, especially MAD-9M(S).
But alas, I've missed the entire MW5 preorder altogether.
(Did not even hear about MW5 until it was launched on Epic).

3. Having the Standard variants of above mechs in (1) above is technically different from the preorder Special variants.
ie: did not renege.

It is standard practice for MWO to release the C-Bills Standard version after a while (time-gated).

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
What is Renege? Here's an example:
Another game I've played, for the preorder bonus item was promised to be "exclusive".
But the exact same "preorder" bonus item was available for $$ just months after it was launched!

Guys "a Patch" with nothing in it, should not be called "a Patch".

Maybe you can call the Patch "guys we are resetting the leaderboards for Solaris 7, here are your rewards for Solaris 7, and here is a Cupcake for you." - "Patch"

Yes, we're supposed to be able to access that "FrontendPatch_380.zip" file. It is from the September Patch where they did the Competitive Queue Re-Activation for people who wanted to play in that department. Just click these words here to see that Patch Notes Information page... Without access to that Patch File from the previous stuff, those who are at least two Game Patch files behind would end up having to run the Repair Tool program, instead of simply being able to just load the patches into the Game Client install. That should NOT be ending up as a necessary happening.

Heh... Cool off, dude... That current File Size is likely a placeholder. Expect a little bit more data to arrive when the actual Patch hits us. :P

If you think this Patch is empty, please think again as it's literally anything other than empty. They have to provide actual data for the "Year 7 Cupcake" Model in the game, otherwise MWO would choke and crash if people tried to select that Standing Cockpit Item object. Also, they have to send down the proper data for people to receive the most recent Solaris Season's Cockpit Items and Decals for use, or the same fate would come to those which tried to touch them. :(

Now, pardon me while someone else gets the rough end of my Mech Weapons out there. B)

Whilst there'll always be patches, may we ask this:

> Nov 17th 2020 @ 10AM – 1PM PDT

So is MWO asking for 3 hour server down time, for a small 1 MB patch?

At no point has absolutely anyone said that they are making decisions about changes this soon.

When someone says weeks, people expect months, except people in this thread who expect days. That is genuinely weeeeeeeeeeeird. Where did that idea even come from?

Are you seriously? Limited download caps for 1 mb "PATCH"?
And why did you decide to call it a "PATCH"? Because in fact it is literally nothing.

1MB is a reasonable patch size. You can fit it on a single 1.44 MB floppy disk. Posted Image
