i think there is alot of folks, in the same boat, since the PSR reset, if only i had not played the first 2 weeks of that, take the blue pill you nut. we should start hearing from PGI soon i would think.
I can tell you what i have been doing, i can play saying nothing --and score better, just staying back and shooting, lazer vomit on a heavy mech.
Or you can choose to get everyone talking if you can, i also get better matchs in a Med mech, then the heavy, but with folks talking i feel better, my match score has been dropping, as i go lighter, anyway make a new thread under general chat, and we here from PGI soon.

MWO shouldn't be about your tier, but about how well you are playing against the opposition and how much fun you are having doing it - without it becoming a travesty of seal clubbing (either on the delivering or receiving end which in the long run, is no fun to anyone and damages player base).

There is an in-game option to hide this from your front-end. Too many people lobbied to make this visible in order to validate their bad opinions on the forums.

The 1 DLC on Steam NOW 'is' a good deal but a big chunk for someone not yet invested.
ALSO while the 7 mechs ARE pretty good taken overall, they are branded by Solaris , a mode that currently does not work essentially , new players trying to use those mechs where they 'should' ( as they have logos for arena inside and out ! ) are unlikely to instantly love hunting for any bracket with anyone in it at all...
The previous three steam DLC you removed, also a great deal, though cheaper so easier to tempt a new player to grab, ALSO price made GIFTING to a friend pretty appealing, which means a path to add players to the base who come buffed with friends smoothing the new player experience. OP!

Don't know where you get this idiom from, but it's hilariously inaccurate.
We use hackapicks.

Lol, what? cheat by using the IN GAME voice option?
So heres the thing: this game is not call of duty or any other game you listed. Its more like WoT, War thunder, and world of warships and such; you AND your team have to know what you are doing, and communicating and working together, even in CoD is huge.... that being said MWO does lack the ability to practice against bots so its not the best when you only learn in matches, and those matches usually consist of groups of people who already know what they are doing.
So i think they would need to add AI bots, or maybe just HEAVILY incentivize completing all the tutorial missions. Seeing as the game is already like 9 years old, i doubt they will add bots now though.... the tier rating would help a bit, but idk how many new players there will be to play against each other.

Only I would say if you want people to buy mech bays you probably want them to fill them up fast. Which means cbills.
i previously noticed that cbills are too common with vets and too scarce with new players.
I would consider "reducing" cbills overall. but give a "bonus" for people under 20million to encourage spending and not simply add To the 2billion cbill piles many people have... While also adding cbill sincs. Let them buy something really expensive to get rid of them, preferably vanity items.
Also I would remove the cbill cost of skills they are only acting as a sinc to new players who don't have piles of cash. Which is the opposite of the purpose of a sinc.
well, while there are whales out there with billions of c-bills.... its pretty rare i think. Me and my friend both use to play loads of the game (since beta) and we had 100 million c-bills. Seems like alot right? well i bought about 4 mechs, bought the engines, weapons, upgrades, and skill points for the builds and now im at less than 20 million which is not much in the bank... As for things for the whales to spend on.... i think it would be cool to see some real merc units come around that have high operation costs (have to buy a union drop ship) but has some cool things you can do as a merc unit, or you get some real neat rewards for merc rep (instead of faction rep). idk

Maybe consider changing the Heavy marker to a single Diagonal line? That way we can more easily see the progression from Medium -> Heavy -> Assault.

I mentioned this years ago and the indifferent remarks from other players suggested either you and I have visual orientation issues or people don't realize or care how slowly their brain processes the difference at a glance.
My suggestion was a "dot," or centered square of pixels. Instantly recognizable.

How about a letter L, M, H, or A for weight class?

Like an LFG but for newbies who want to take a class on say, gauss rifles, and have vets have their own lfg for such a task?
Like a room where a vet can bring in 30 new cadets into the academy and run them through the basics of how say Hgauss and PPCS work and how best to use them? I would love to teach a class on proper LRM/ATM usage and why, sometimes, streak boats are hilariously awesome.
In the past, MWO relied on content creators to make such videos, but most of those guys have either left for other games or retired. The only ones still around are Baradul, TTB and NGNG. I learned most of what I know from watching Snuggles Time, and Commander Lemming's Videos.( and some of Vux's stuff, but he has been awol for like eight years.)
Or, How bout PGI pay someone to make official MWO content for youtube/twitch specifically geared toward new players? Like a twitch streamer with a "bunny slope". (that's a ski reference for easy stuff for those of you who live indoors)
Also, put cadets in wildy powerful trial mechs with niche builds, like the UltraViolent with LBx2 spam, or the Slepneir with 4LBX10 Or even the Splat/masc spirit bear and Madcat MkII's with all the dakka or lasers. Letting people use a hero mechs, say for a limited time until they graduate from cadet school and have enough cbills to buy their first mech. This would give them incentive to buy them with real money.
Also get rid of MC and go straight for dollar Value Per Mech. The extra currency is just dumb, if you want real dollars, not cbills, then put the stuff you want to sell on the website store, and not in game. Such as the TSP packs of the past. Like sell a pack of ten warhorns or cosmetics or boltons for 10 bucks or something, or give people the option to buy individual, specific items, like C-bill booster items for 20/30 bucks and individual warhorns for 2bucks? idk. I'm trying to help. I'm not a game dev. You could also go the route of Runescape; Where they have both cosmetics related microtransactions AND a membership system of 10-30 bucks a month for MWO. This would bring in an influx of ready cash, you can always look at your statistics meanu and know right off the bat whether or not you can afford to develop a new map for us within like a 3 month time period?
Where I'm getting at is thus: HELP ME, HELP YOU, BY HELPING CADETS LEARN HOW NOT TO NASCAR OR BE LRM ASSAULTS. Like real strats and tactics and the like.
Please PGI; I want to hear your direct critiques of my ideas here.

The Mech Store:
Sort mechs by IS or Clan
Very confusing for people who don't know which mech is which.
Tonnage displayed in too small a font.
When trying to get a mech to fit in your drop deck, you want the tonnage displayed in a bigger font.
Also want to sort mechs by tonnage in ascending or descending order.
Be able to display mechs loadout when its in your drop deck.
Currently you have to remove it from your drop deck just to see what the loadout is.

You mean something like the LFG that most players don't use because they prefer to drop alone in Solo Quickplay?
Well, PGI could make the LFG more usefull by:
- listing all active groups (Lobby)
- allow group descriptions like "Newbies welcome" or "Faction Play"
- adding VOIP to the group function so you don't have to use an external VOIP solution
In the good old days Units did use the private match function to train new recruits, it's still in the game. Find a unit and get some training.

And as for Tiers, they're done all wrong. Being at a higher Tier should only give you an advantage when it comes to the variety of mechs you get, it shouldn't make you a better player!!! When you're a high enough Tier you can stomp out any Tier 1-2 with ease no matter how good they are, & it definitely gives you the advantage against any lower Tiers. Make the game fair for everyone all around no matter how long they've been playing.
I've wasted so much money on this game & the different special events & it makes me mad to know that they've taken out some of the stuff I've bought on special events they've had. What's even worse is how cbills are worth even less now that they've added so much more stuff to the game you have to buy. Buying something simple like a heavy or battle mech makes you realize that you now need to buy WAY more stuff if you want to be able to do anything with them. This game is the true epitome of "Pay-To-Play"......

Why that sounds like lots of fun for us vets, noobs won't find that fun at all. I mean who wants to have to find a group, then go through hours of training, all that just to learn to play a new game?!?!?!
I just want to be able to get back on here with my awesome skins & my Madcat MKII, not have to spend a couple of hours giving it an entire makeover (that's just one of my many mechs), & be able to play for hours on end...
