Sure move to a good position, hide till you get there AND THEN TAKE AND HOLD THE HIGH GROUND!

Centre of MC is easily contested without ever getting on the ramps. Keep that in mind - if you rush top and the other team has taken the back line you are absolutely, hilariously screwed.

High ground is an oversimplification of the true game winner: Fireing lanes.
And MC might be the most easy to understand map in the game talking about firing lanes.
Sometimes, high ground gives you more options for those lanes. That's it. Ocassionally the lanes from high ground have the benefit of removing otherwise hard to bypass terrain for direct fire weapons. Buuuutt that's still a fireing lane.

Having a team move to a spot where they can slightly spread out and cover more firing lanes is how you win, high ground or not. A murder ball that is shaped like a half moon with some bit of cover here and there will blow the torsos off a peek a boo team every time. It will counter a rushing team, the leader of the rush will get blown to pieces, usually hit the brakes, chaos ensues.

If your half moon shaped murder ball can advance in this formation without compromise, possible on a few maps in a few locations, that's when stomps happen even with well matched teams. Canyon comes to mind. Caustic too if the team is coordinated a little.

Q: How do you famarize yourself with the maps' "Hide Till You Get There". Don't know the maps that well!

It's how often you blame "pugs" for your losses. The more you hear a player complain about "pugs" losing their drops, the more of a l33t mwo player it is

That must be me then which is why I am quitting.
It must be me when we are 6 down, no kills and everyone is running for cover. It must be me with 4 kills out of six in a loss. It must be me when we get flanked and screwed because the lights are capping the base or hero meching it and getting splashed. It must be me when every time I get over the lip of tier 3 I get pulled down again by a loss of any of the above.

It must be me, which is why I am leaving.

From your launch screen select "testing grounds" and you can tool around any map you want all by yourself with no-one shooting at you. So you can learn their various features at your leisure. That's what I did when I first started playing.

The problem with that is, that you cant run foolishly in circles, if you hold a good position. Mwo is a carousell simulator, didnt you know that ???

Since the "invention" of nascar, all military academys in the inner sphere and in clan space have been closed. Other tactics are irrelevant, because they could be fun and more effective. And fun should be avoided at all cost, in sq.

If you nascared you'd be Tier 1 by now

I'm thier 1 was maxxed but I'm trying to match make myself for the sake of void shield testing a ER-PPC commando
Still Thier 1 and a half
Doh Tier 2 I won't nascar guy

Their is piloting skills other than in ball formations, nascaring, and firing your weapons. MWO pilots do not use piloting skills. Yes, some will call out a target, but everyone is firing on other targets, and not exact same target, due to positioning. Only formation you will hear is ball up (group up), where everyone bangs into each other. Piloting skills for examples: Battle formations, tactical advantages (locations on maps), pulling the enemy, toying with the enemy, breaking up the enemy, using your side windows (yeah...wtf? But it helps on some mech, but not all like the Atlas), taking cover, defense positioning, offensive positioning, ambush and more. All I been seeing it ball, top center, go theta, nascar and score points at the end. Made 4 videos, and working others (ambush, cat and mouse, and DFA (since it hardly does much) and more. Been in rounds when team I am in, made comebacks from 1-6. Doesn't happen often. But in one of the videos shows it can be done. Get familiar with your mech mechanics (torso twisting, looking around, pay attention to mini map, and more) when getting around and in battle.

I have many accounts, some tier one and this one is tier 2 because the game is such a boring rotation ****, that i drop rarely nowadays. You have a big mouth for a guy that i killed often, with and without dsx. In my 2 main accounts i have so much stuff, that this one is a little more fun to play. And by the way: every fool reaches tier one in no time, if you play enough. You have so many below 100 dmg idiots.....nothing to be proud of.

when i play a game i follow 3 easy steps

1. locate the enemy
2. go to the enemy
3. shoot the enemy

people seem to have a problem with 1, 2 and 3.
