Could someone give a quick summary of the dev update?

Even Faction Play has 2...
Or may be no music, like mercenaries 2.

I second this. Not everyone has time (or the ability to focus) for a 50-plus-minute video. Yes, I'm Serious... I'm EXPLICITLY NOT trying to be mean to PGI's Staff here!
I will try to force myself to watch the whole video later in one sitting if I can possibly get the time, but I can't make a promise on that... Sorry!

what a miracle two free mech can do, so i would suggest that you could win, one free special mech variant every month, the first half year.
that should bring some of the players back

They have divided the year into 4 quarters and are focussing on specific aspects each quarter. There will be a minimum of one patch per quarter (usually in the 3rd week during scheduled down-time) but hopefully more as changes become available.
Quarter 1 – Re-connection time to be extended to 4 minutes / Significantly lower c-bill costs for unit recruitment / Bolt-ons will stay on (potential challenges exist) / Static time of day for 6 maps (adjustable if feedback dictates) e.g. Crimson Strait will be at dusk (6:45pm iirc) / Increases to the cadet bonus achievements to include such things as colours, cockpit items and GSP / Log on volume to be lowered / MWO comp titles and badges to be added.
Quarter 2 – Improving existing content (mech variants) and spawn points – community feedback required and welcomed
Quarter 3 – New content in the form of Matt's event queue – more info to follow
Quarter 4 – Not sure, depends on progress and resources
It was stated that technical resources and support are hard to come by at the moment due to the demands of MW5 development. It is anticipated that more resources will become available as the year progresses but these will need to be planned and negotiated.
The Roadmap will be published soon. It is flexible, malleable and only a broad outline
New bundles are being created (including for Steam) – feedback and suggestions appreciated.
More VLOGS to come on an 'every other week' basis. Additional news items as and when required.
Discord to be expanded to reflect larger mech community (not just MW5)
Looking to open up the WIKI but will need help and support
Dev Hunts ongoing, hoping to automate the rewards.

I think I can also agree with only having Quarterly Patches as it would give PGI's QA Staff the time to ensure that various...
- Feature Enhancements
- Bug Fixes
- Game Mode Changes
- Map Availability Changes
- UI Repairs (Still wondering when someone will fix the Server Selector so it's ALWAYS available... It should not be merely intermittently available!!!)
- New Mechs
- New Maps
- New Game Modes
- Camo Bug Fixes (I'm looking squarely at you, Mech_Con Camo!!!)
- etc.
And yes, I'm also one of those who would be upset by Viridian Bog losing the "2200 Start Time" Version with the lightning and rain storm... It really is an interesting & nice map environment to play in, so if we're going to lose the Time-Of-Day Changes that cause lag to everyone, I'll hope that Viridian Bog gets an additional "Night" Version to accompany the original "Day" edition that it started out with. The same should happen to River City and several others, if getting rid of Time-Of-Day Changes is going to be an actual thing. Don't forget to also bring back River City's (and Terra Therma's) Classic Versions as well!
As for this...

More pieces of Background Music would be a nice thing to have, reminiscent of the "MechWarrior 2 & 3" PC Games from way back when. Like, definitely a few more pieces for the MechLab Main Interface, but it would also be nice to have some during the actual Match-playing, obviously with additional options as to which sections of the game have the Background Music enabled. Those earlier games really lent some immersion into the tempo of the battles with their provided Mission-Specific Music that could be listened to. And on the other hand, I wouldn't be at all surprised if some people have been getting droned to sleep by the Faction Play, Solaris, and/or MechLab Background Musics running for too long. So yeah, like I said, more Music Control Choices and more Music Pieces in order to break the feeling of being lulled to sleep.
...and now I hope everyone will pardon me here so that I can get back to my own Mech Garage and such. So many things to do, and less time than I would like to have for them.

Oh well, that doesn't sound to good.
And that sounds like they still doesn't want to fix those invisible walls on a lot of the maps .

one thing that i always found annoying was/is, if you get kicked out of a game.
is that you have to get by the hanger first to reconnect. why not do like the do in world of tanks.
it detect that you already playing a game, and automatic startup in that game.
that save a lot of time and there are greater chance that you are still alive when you get back.

Please fix this!!!
2a) Re-introduction of the Steam 'Mech Performance Packs I & II, for Light/Medium/Heavy/Assaults.
~Personally, I feel it does not have to come through Steam; MWO can directly offer similar mech packages directly from MWO if it wishes to (similar to the "Bundle" Christmas 2020 re-introduction of the IS Phoenix Variants).
~Personally I do not need any new Special Variant mech camo artwork, but that's just me.
Steam Performance Pack I (for Light/Medium/Heavy/Assault)
http://mwomercs.com/...-the-gift-store
Steam Performance Pack II (for Light/Medium/Heavy/Assault)
http://mwomercs.com/...e-through-steam
My own shopping list from above eight (8) packs:
Light:
RavenRVN-3L(S)
Medium
Hunchback HBK-4P(S)
Shadow Cat SHC-Prime(S) -- with ECM please (not AMS)
Heavy
Timber Wolf TBR-C(S)
Grasshopper GHR-5H(S)
Assault
Warhawk WHK-C(S)
KGC-000B(S)
Dire Wolf DWF-W(S)
2b) How about throwing in a "free" Mad Dog MDD-Prime(S) for anyone buying 4 of the above 8 'Mech Performance Packs?
3) Finally, can MWO/PGI consider changing the Clan Omnimech "Set Bonus" to "Set-of-6" instead of "Set-of-8" in order to enjoy the set bonuses?
I strongly feel that this would make Clan Omnimech sales much more interesting for MWO, both for Clan Omnimech "Hero" and above proposed "'Mech Performance Pack".

Creating a matchmaker? Not?
Are these issues not being discussed?
