Not concerned about how long the fix will take, am concerned that this bug has been reported for years and it is just now being put onto a list for a possible fix

Entirely different problem. But if PGI gets the game in a better state, than this ancient and modified to death engine will hinder it more than it already does. Technical performance is pisspoor.

Some of it looks interesting but imo no new content equal dead to most customers..

At least keep up with new Mechs and Maps.. Maybe new weapons.

Can I make a suggestion?

Show the mech you picked when it gets to the map selection screen. It can be 5 minutes, several drinks and 4 news articles between clicking match, and actually getting one. My memory isn't what is used to be.

For those wondering why some of the items marked "Done" are actually not in the game yet. Chatted with both Daeron and Chris on my stream after the roadmap was released. They both mentioned that most of the items marked "Done" are ready to go into a patch (Feb or March) so are not in the game yet. When I asked Daeron about it he said he was rushing to get the roadmap out so needs to go back into the post for some cleanup.

In my experience AMS is less a Mech defensive weapon and more a team defensive weapon. I can get LRM and ATM hits on a Corsair with 4 AMS if I have LOS on it. Where AMS really makes a difference is when a team has a lot of it and is taking indirect fire. And by a lot, I mean if the team has one Corsair with 4 AMS on it near my target I'm not going to get any hits if I don't have LOS.

Gameplay is the core problem of MWO.

Solo Quickplay is 12 vs 12 Teamdeathmatch with no respawn but random teams that are disolved after each match.
No one gives a dam about teammates that aren't with the team next match, especially if you risk to lose your only Mech in the match by helping them.
That leads to the NASCAR gameplay: you leave behind the slow mechs of your team to kill the slow mechs of the enemy team, because you make more matchscore that way than staying behind to defend "your team".

Faction Play has the same issue, and the rewards in Faction Play are a joke (Hamster Hueys, srsly?)

Technícal Performance of MWO is fine on my PC:
Xeon 1231 (yes, a server CPU)
16 GB Ram
R9 280
I run it on 2560x1440 fps.
can't run Mechwarrior 5 with more than 24 fps in Full HD

So switching to a more modern engine won't make the game run faster on older PCs.
Instead many Players would have to upgrade their PCs to match the higher requierments of the new engine.
Also no Engine support out of the box all the stuff a Mechwarrior Games needs, so the new Engine would be needed to modifed too.

Non of those Mechs are sensible choices for MWOs Quickplay:

Wasp / Fire Moth:
20 ton light mech that takes away a light mech slot in the match maker better used for a 35 ton light mech.
Probably not faster than a Locust (Wasp) or better armend than a Piranha (Fire Moth).

Crusader:
In the best case a 65 ton Mech with high mounted Missle Hardpoints in the arms for 2 MRM 40.
You can build that with a Catapult.
Or even better with a Quickdraw IV or a Warhammer 7s (torso mounted missles, can use the arms to shield).

Stone Rhino:
You can run 2 Toros Mounted Gaus & 2 Arm mounted large Pulse Lasers in the Kodiak KDK-3, and that's still worse than the usual loadout of 4 ACs

The ability to choose such a mech after the mapvote removes that luck.
Yeah, some players may still be not choosing an Mech with AMS, but at least it has nothing to do with luck.

On a second thougt, MWO doesn't have factions in quickplay, so real world nationalism could replace "that missing feature".
