Of all things, this ires me the least about this patch, even if it is an unforseen side-effect. I can not fathom a scenario where i want to have gauss as a part of the chain fire group, especially with other weapons without the charge mechanic. Maybe, just maybe, a 4 light gauss mech with two chain fire groups bound to to different buttons to keep a constant fire up when initially pressing them staggerd, but with the increased cooldown even that is not a thing and would be better managed manually in the first place.
I was just playing around with the new weapon values. Two post-patch Light Gauss Rifles in chain fire should approximate one pre-patch (regular) Gauss Rifle but with close to the original 2.6s LGuass cycle time.
Also mixing other weapons in the group was just academic. I don't really see a need for it either, but it's a feature and I wanted to respect that.
(I'm in the US, but you give me good ideas. I should definitely start fishing for a job.)
