"I was going to return to the game but I can no longer play what is widely regarded as the most broken and annoying build" doesn't exactly inspire sympathy. I'm concerned about what these PPC changes will do to other mechs, but tbh it'd almost be worth killing the whole weapon off just to be rid of vapor eagles and their ridiculous imbalances.

The 3 ERPPC vapor. And more precisely the larger engine faster one with less heat sinks I play is in no way game breaking (The DPS both burst and sustained is just to low.) . Look if enough people want to turn the game into something I have no desire to play fine. I didnt play for a year because of changes by Chris and actions by PGI. It will not be hard just to never play or spend money again.

Yea it is pretty widely agreed that clan erppc is busted, so of course we have to nerf the IS counterparts am I right

Good to see some changes and there were some positives which is great! My feedback.

Positives:
  • Ballistic velocity buffs.
  • Missile HP buffs.
  • Map lighting fixes.
  • Some trial mechs being playable.
Negatives:
  • Other trials being optimised by someone on LSD. Example grasshopper with 17 back armour.
  • Masc heavily nerfed? Ah ok...
  • Spelling mistakes. Please proof read your post for spelling mistakes, punctuation and incorrect word choices like increasing on clear decreases and vice versa. You are a business spokesman, please be professional.
To big for my brain to comprehend:
  • PPC line being butchered randomly.
  • The gauss changes.
With the clear meta being nascar oriented MPL mechs what is the thought process behind buffing this gameplay? I simply do not understand the majority of the changes and the purpose they are trying to achieve.

Lol this is so bad that it's comical. the ******* LPPC has a slower fire rate than even the HPPC. What next, 10 seconds cooldon on SPLs?

GGclose PGI, don't let the cat sleep on the keyboard while typing the new weapon values next time, allright?

Stop nerfing everything other than lasers and buffing autocannons. They don't need the help and are already bad enough for the game as they are. PPCs will be next to useless with the cooldown and heat nerfs. What is the point of taking a Gauss when there are auto cannons that shoot faster and hit harder since you cant even fire 10% of your shots before they kill you. Auto cannons and mrms don't need the buff that just makes the ppc and gauss builds even less worth using. nerf masc- fine, fix map lighting issues- great. **** on any fun weapons in the game...... NO PLEASE GOD NO STOP THAT.

This patch is terrible- please don't implement it.

How I see this patch in summary:

The community says "please improve the following weapons and systems..."
PGI reads "oh, I guess the community wants us to make those weapons and systems worse than they currently are, OK I think we can do that"

Just like the old days, 3 steps back every time the say they will take a step forward (sorry PGI, but I just can't see how you all thought these changes are "good" for the game or giving us what we asked for)

They're not aiming the patches at the competitive players.

How does it help anyone to nerf garbage like LGauss and lppc while buffing currently strong equipment?

This isn't about comp, it's about a bad patch.

I have to reserve judgement on these patch notes until I actually play the changes.
(seriously, how can you all complain before you even know how the changes feel? I love this game and the Franchise but the sheer amount of crankiness and salt from this community is a pretty sad thing to see.)
-The one concern I have is the L-PPC cooldown is higher then standard PPC(Typo?) I admit, I am not sure of the logic. (Though it may be to nerf LPPC boats with the damage buff.)
-I am extremely happy to see Gauss getting some love. The cooldown increases do seem... more significant then I was expecting. maybe introduce a velocity buff as well? (I do think Gauss should be high damage, long cooldown, no charge, but that's just me)
-MASC changes seem pretty alright to me. it seems that it rewards active MASC play.(How is longer MASC burn time bad? even if you cant turn as quickly)
-Final Note: I think this community needs to take a chill pill, step back, and realize that active development has started again, which is fantastic.
PGI has massively improved their correspondence with their community, which is fantastic.
and I wish there was more appreciation given to them, when they could have dropped game development entirely.
Let the past be the past, and look forward to the fact that they did not have to consult the community, but they chose to.

The weapons changes you are planning to put in will make the terribly bad nascar gameplay even worse. My PPC and gauss builds are only occasionally able to put a stop to a full scale circle of derp run, but now they will be worthless. There will be nothing left to do but boat srms/art or mpls and run the circle with the pack. Congrats, the huntsman, assassin, arctic wolf will be the tier one mechs in the game. No need to get your assaults or heavies out of the bay unless you want to throw your k/d. PS they are already terrible in the game as it is... I will be taking a second very long break if these planned changes go in until this cluster is fixed or may not return at all if you run off the rest of your players and the lights go out. You did worse than not listen. You went against most everything you have been told from day one in Beta testing. Weapons hardpoint size restrictions is the key. You will never get it until you see that.

Dude, they're nerfing weapon systems that were already irrelevant - see LGauss and lppc. If you have a sense of how the game works it's clear the changes to those two make them less relevant, not more. Might as well just delete them from the game.

People who understand the game well can anticipate how changes will play out and math out the viability of different builds.

A dude over in Twitter said these changes come from @Navid_A1 and @CompMwo

You might want to get those guys over to answer the questions about these specific changes. Is this something they signed off on or someone picking and choosing.

Edit: Removed Twitter forum bbcode pastes

The changes in these patch notes are not even in the same galactic supercluster as what was suggested by what we affectionately call the Gulag.

I didn't say they were going about doing the right thing, but the fact of the matter is the betterer you are at the game the less likely you'll be listened to.

Seriously.
PPC didn't need damage just velocity.
Upping the cooldown just promotes more hide and poke.

I wonder how many smurfs PGI has protecting their amateur attempts at community development. They always end up with salt in their face

Patch looks good,
PGI, haters are going to hate, ppc are not a dps weapon. Will see how these changes go live.
