But in actual Game play... I don't hate it like i thought i would. the buff to damage gives it some teeth that most mechs cant just shrug off anymore and the cooldown length makes it a fairly cold weapon to use. Could it be better tuned, of course. But again i don't hate it.

First thing I tried was 3xLPPC Wolfhound first game was 551 not bad first try on a new build. Average 500 600 with that

Take for example SirSmoke in a 3 LPPC Wolfhound, here is a quick theorycraft: https://mech.nav-alp...#00453956_WLF-2
21 PPFLD alpha with an amazingly high 2.9 DPS, heat neutral with 13 DHS because the CD prevents you from doing jack.
Compare that to a more traditional 6 ERML Wolfhound: https://mech.nav-alp...#c47eb9b1_WLF-2
Your damage is better across the board, its more forgiving if you miss because your CD is lower and you don't have a minimum range.
The single advantage a LPPC now has over lasers is it being PPFLD.

I wouldn't run more than 3 just based on heat scaling, but its easily one of the most tonnage efficient damage dealers in the game now.
You can easily chainfire those 4 without hitting ghost heat. Tho Honestly the Ghostheat for LPPC should either be increased or out right removed at that cooldown.

my honest advice: just don't.. it's fighting windmills, and that you can't win.
be glad it's not 2hvyPPCs on that wolfhound and leave it at that.

I keep seeing this argument, and its very much a strawman, because you cant pin point somebody's CT from across the map with a medium laser and *you know that*. Im pretty sure medium pulses are among the most tonnage efficient damage dealers in the game but you have to close the distance to use them.

you could certainly look at it that way;
or you could say: one loadout is pretty lethal, and the other one is a nuisance at best.
have your pick, nobody minds. but ask yourself:
why is the erml/ml/mpl-wolfhound a thing, and the ppc-hound is not?
I know what I'd rather pilot to pull my weight, or what to have at my side

I'm not complaining because I don't want to add to the salt and truly i'm not THAT mad about it. Honestly if I didnt have a mild shake i would probably drop that sweet sweet peep on faces too.
For real though, the PPC buff was a bit much i think.

post-patch matches always see an increase in affected systems.

he already killed off jumpjets twice a few years ago. unless you have the quirks, theyre really more like hover jets to avoid weird rock collisions on the maps

Edit: I misread but I'll leave it there.
Mediums in particular... Heavy PPC = side grade feels to me. So "sniper class" anti medium meta now?
LPPC is definitely out of the trashcan to viable feels.

I agree its damage is more appropriate but the cooldowns and heat no..
