We need a better platform. Asking someone to use the forums is just cruel.

I think the forum is important for making wall of text. I mean if they have lots of info to dump, like the entire pitch of the Gulag Cauldron, it's unrealistic to just put it on something like Discord's chat.

the most Stomps beginning with a Dc , and 3 Guys thats run over the ridge in Crimson or slauthered in the Tunnel ,or Mechs thats run in open Area and the fireline of the Enemy Team...the Stomp factor 1 is stupidity and nothing tactical awarness , Kill and Tunnelview , and trollbuilds like a Battlemaster with a LRM 20 and a Single UAc5 and 50t Ammo

The list of changes proposed can be found at www.mwocomp.com/patches.html

It is my understanding that PGI will be implementing the entirety of this list. The group also have mech quirk and agility changes, but those will not be included in April.

Yes lets destroy it more why is it even called mechwarrior lets call it something totally different and everyone will leave.. Because lets be honest if this didn't have a battletech name attached no one would stay around.

Dude you are literally spattering arbitrary height values from a variety of authors who have no single concrete frame of reference. Height measurements in Battletech are notoriously inconsistent, and should have no direct translation to MechWarrior.

Really. The only general rule for this is lighter mechs=shorter mechs, and even that isn't always true.

I think 30 tonners won't change in size, and everything heavier will be scaled down appropriately to them. The only question is whether 20 and 25 tons will be scaled up or not. If anyone knows better they can speak up.

In the past I did a thread with scaling based on the 25 ton commando: https://mwomercs.com...metric-scaling/

making lights smaller will objectively make them better. It is no coincidence that the Firestarter fell out of the meta the instant it became the size of a 45-tonner.

Also future Cauldron patches will address mech quirks, including the Jenner.

Fire starter also had its main reason for existing turned into nothing more than a very small orange glow stick that heats up your own mech more then the enemy. Then the Ember got its 40% mg rof stealth nerfed into 20-25% Flamers are nothing compared to how they were when the Ember was sold.

You mean leave your Atlas alone? Because I clearly say heavier mech are too big.

Closer than the crap we have here and many of those listings are from more than novels.. Some are from technical maps designed by Fasa.

Also their agility went to hell..

Opinion: The answer is to make everything more deadly and mobile, your position and firepower should be keeping you alive not your armor and hitboxes.

As I understand it they buffed armor and nerfed firepower, heat/sustain and movement in an attempt to increase TTK. It may have worked to some extent but it also killed a lot of player agency.
Everything got made kiddiproof. The old flamers that would shut you down and require a teammate to save you were good. Lagshield lights were good. Bigger heat pools were good. Better torso twist was good. In those days I saw light pilots get over 2000 damage in a pug match for instance, everything was dangerous. GOOD.
I think the only scourge was guys with a meme build doing suicidal alphas. We lost everything to this one downside.

Armor meta could only work if we could bounce rounds and deflect lasers, There is no armor only healthpool in this game.

One day maybe they could install an asymmetric armor package that takes up the same critical volume as Stealth, Ferrous & Light Ferrous.
Three choices Being:
-Chemical = Flat missile mitigation, +40% damage reduction at Cost of +10% weakness to ballistic and energy weapons.
-Ballistic = Flat ballistic mitigation, +40% damage reduction at Cost of +10% weakness to chemical and energy weapons.
-Ceramic = Flat energy mitigation, +40% damage reduction at Cost of +10% weakness to ballistic and chemical weapons.
- the light versions being +20% at the cost of +5% weakness to the remainder options.

Such an easy way to break meta at the drop of an armor change.

Just wanna point out that the play-for-fun and play-to-win dichotomy is weird. Comp players aren't trying to make themselves bored of the game. They just have fun in a different way. And of course most of the play-for-fun people probably enjoy winning more than losing most of the time (outside of boring stomp/cap wins or hard-fought close losses).

There are far better criticisms to make of the proposed changes than that (i.e. see my posts in this thread).

I meant a more casual game obviously less toxic w1nn1ng esport type game play.. I understand that will always be in this game but originally thats why we had two different modes, Quickplay = casual drunk dads.. Faction war = hardcore esport tryhards.. Somewhere along the line the Faction Play died (surprise surprise) and the esport tryhards took over and some what destroyed Quickplay because they either weren't as good as they thought or the hardcore aspect was such a minority that no one could get a match..

I don't think Faction Play has ever been the main focus of this game's competitive scene

Thats because when you put two sets of hardcores together one set has to lose.. They hate that, they'd rather smash baby seals daily.

Unfortunately without an eve online-like combat and savage/insurance system where acquiring base Mechs can be relatively cheap and easy, with specialized expensive units rarely fielded except "must win at all costs" scenarios, the idea of light Mechs as big as heavies/assaults just honestly won't work.
thought a system to keep common Mechs easy to maintain would have been perfect but..... That was 2012.... Don't even reload and repair for cost cause people couldn't make std engine Mechs worth while.

that's just untrue, mate.
the BEST FP matches are when 12gents on comms, who know what they're doing are running into 12 equally skilled gents (or bast*rds, since red. nevermind they're your pals OUTSIDE of that match Posted Image).
many times both teams where on the same teamspeak-server and FUN kept all 24 playing for a whole evening.
clubbing seals is NO FUN, for BOTH sides, but just dull.

that is until 2017(?) or so, since PGI did their best to kill off entire units.
